Description
Saaya Yakushiji is a soft-spoken and gentle student at L'Avenir Academy who serves as her class representative. She has long navy blue hair, often styled with a small bun on the left side secured by a light blue hairpiece, and blue eyes. Her typical attire consists of a light blue pinafore with ruffles, a lavender sash, and cerulean layers beneath her skirt, complemented by blue high heels and light blue socks. At school, she often wears pink glasses.

Her alter ego is Cure Ange, the Pretty Cure of Wisdom. When transformed, her hair lengthens, layers, and turns sky blue, with two front strands adorned by golden beads. She wears a white and gold headband resembling a nurse's cap with feather-like decorations, a tiara with a blue gem, and blue teardrop-shaped earrings. Her costume includes a white and sky blue bodice with a sheer lace collar, translucent sleeves with shoulder holes, a short white capelet, and a skirt with a left-side slit and ruffled back. A cerulean sash tied to the left holds a pouch accented with a white wing and feathers. She completes the outfit with feathery bracelets and light blue boots featuring cerulean toe tips.

In her Cheerful Style form, her hair gains volume and length, and her dress shifts to predominantly white with sky blue frills on the bodice, feather-like trim, and a longer sky blue sash. The pouch develops more feather-like protrusions, and she wears a translucent veil held by a rainbow gradient bow. Her Mother Heart Style adds large translucent butterfly-like wings.

Saaya is kind and angelic in demeanor but harbors a hidden competitive streak, especially in areas like childcare. She enjoys spicy foods and shows enthusiasm for tool sets. Though generally composed, she experiences uncertainty about her future career path.

She was once a famous child actor, following her mother Reira Yakushiji, a renowned actress. This career brought her anxiety due to external pressures. During an audition supported by friends Hana Nono and Homare Kagayaki, she did not secure the role but valued the experience. She later expressed a desire to act alongside her mother at least once, even if not pursuing acting permanently.

Her career direction changed when she discovered her dream of becoming a doctor, influenced by her healing abilities as Cure Ange. This resolve strengthened when she healed Daigan of the Criasu Corporation from a fatal wound, creating a special bond between them. Her surname, Yakushiji, which incorporates characters meaning "medicine," "expert," and "temple," echoes this path. By 2030, she achieves her goal of becoming a doctor.

As Cure Ange, she wields healing powers and uses analytical skills to identify enemy weaknesses. Her attack, Heart Feather, deflects assaults with feather-like projectiles. She carries a PreHeart device in her pouch for transformations and attacks.

In the film *Pretty Cure Super Stars!*, Saaya and Homare Kagayaki are kidnapped by Usobakka, who petrifies their transformation devices. They are slowly turned to stone until rescued by Hana Nono and other Pretty Cure teams. After their items are restored, she joins the collective attack "Pretty Cure Clover Formation" to defeat Dark Onibi.

She maintains close friendships with fellow Pretty Cures Hana Nono, Homare Kagayaki, Ruru Amour, and Emiru Aisaki. With Ruru, she shares a rivalry over childcare that evolves into mutual support. She respects her mother Reira, who is strict and occasionally insecure about Saaya's growth. Her father, Shuji Yakushiji, supports her daily needs, often cooking meals due to Reira's absences. Dr. Maki mentors her in her medical aspirations.

The name Cure Ange comes from the French word for "angel," aligning with her aesthetic and healing traits. Her personal name, Saaya, written in hiragana, carries possible meanings such as "blooming love," "true color," or "pure color," with official sources associating it with the onomatopoeia "saya-saya," suggesting a soft rustling sound.
