Description
Pekorin is a pale pink, puppy-like fairy from KiraKira☆Pretty Cure A La Mode. She has fluffy hair resembling a cream dollop and ears changing color with emotion: light blue for hunger, pink for happiness, yellow for feeling spoiled, green for fatigue, red for peevishness, and dark blue for sadness. An apricot bib featuring crossed pale cream utensils adorns her, and she can fly. Her speech consistently ends with "~peko," reflecting her name's origin in the onomatopoeia for a quick bow ("pekori") and extreme hunger ("pekopeko"). She detects "Kirakiraru," energy embodying emotions within sweets.
Initially aspiring to meet the legendary Pretty Cure patissières, Pekorin frequently confronts enemies but often ends up injured or incapacitated. Her first encounter with Ichika Usami happens when she fails to stop the fairy Gummy from stealing Kirakiraru; after Ichika rescues her, Pekorin forms an especially close bond with her. She apprentices under the senior fairy Chourou and befriends other characters, including Kirarin (later Cure Parfait) and Yukari Kotozume, who gently strokes her. Pekorin exhibits a gluttonous, spoiled demeanor but demonstrates fierce loyalty to her friends, often protecting their creations or well-being despite her baking clumsiness.
Lumière, the spirit of Ichigoyama, grants Pekorin the ability to transform into a human child. In this form, she assists the Cures more directly, independently shopping for patisserie ingredients and baking donuts for forest creatures. During a battle against Grave, Pekorin sacrifices her human form to generate a protective barrier for the Cures, exhausting Lumière’s bestowed energy. Later, when Grave renders the Cures emotionless and amnesiac, Pekorin’s determination to revive them through her donuts culminates in a new power: transforming into Cure Pekorin, the Pretty Cure of Hunger and Sparkles. As Cure Pekorin, she sports a donut-themed outfit and wields the "Cure Donut" attack, creating giant Kirakiraru rings to restrain foes. She fights alongside the Cures in the final battle against Elisio, later gaining enhanced flight capabilities.
Pekorin appears in the crossover film *Pretty Cure Super Stars!*, aiding the Hugtto! and Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure teams against the rampaging monster Usobakka. In the *KiraKira☆Pretty Cure A La Mode* series finale’s distant future, a teenage Pekorin co-owns a sweets shop with Chourou and Bibury.
