She habitually ends sentences with "~peko" and possesses a gluttonous yet well-intentioned nature, demonstrating fierce loyalty to friends and a deep passion for crafting sweets, often alongside frequent clumsiness.

Driven by a dream to meet the legendary Pretty Cure patissières, Pekorin encounters Ichika Usami while trying to protect Kirakiraru—the energy within sweets representing creators' feelings—from the thief Gummy. Injured during this confrontation, her fall ignites Ichika's transformation into Cure Whip, forging Pekorin's close bond with Ichika and cementing her role as the catalyst for the team's formation.

Throughout her journey, Pekorin confronts challenges that spur her growth. She reunites with scattered fairy companions after a cream explosion on Ichigo Mountain, initially failing to recognize Kirarin (later revealed as Ciel) until Kirarin reverts to fairy form. She experiences deep betrayal upon learning Yukari Kotozume plans to study abroad despite earlier assurances, causing emotional distress ultimately resolved through group solidarity. Her impulsiveness surfaces when she nearly jeopardizes a mission by eating a donut, attracting enemy notice.

Pekorin gains the ability to assume human forms through Lumière's power. She first appears as a young child with baby pink hair and a chiffon dress, later adopting a teenage form wearing the KiraPati uniform. She sacrifices this ability during a battle against Grave to aid the Cures, though temporarily regains it later. These human forms symbolize growth yet remain secondary to her core fairy identity.

During the climactic battle, Pekorin achieves her own Cure transformation after vowing to protect handmade donuts meant to restore the Cures' stolen emotions. Utilizing the Sweets Pact and Pekorin Donut Animal Sweet, she becomes Cure Pekorin, the Pretty Cure of Hunger and Sparkles.
