Description
Ichika Usami, a second-year middle school student, transforms into Cure Whip, leader of the KiraKira☆Pretty Cure A La Mode team. Her alter ego embodies strawberry shortcake and rabbits, featuring rabbit ears and a strawberry-adorned bodice. She declares "Whip, Step, Jump!" and "I have a bright idea!" during transformations and battles.

Born January 7, Ichika exhibits a cheerful, energetic personality, often hopping like a rabbit. She possesses strong creativity decorating sweets, particularly animal-shaped desserts, though her academic skills and basic cooking are inconsistent; she frequently burns ingredients or forgets steps like adding baking soda. Passionately dedicated to conveying emotions through sweets, she draws inspiration from her mother Satomi, who baked love-infused strawberry shortcakes during her childhood. Satomi's overseas work as a doctor strained their relationship, leading Ichika to channel feelings into baking, like creating a cake for her postponed homecoming.

Her journey as Cure Whip began while attempting that strawberry shortcake. After failures, the fairy Pekorin sensed "Kirakiraru" energy, attracting the thief Gummy. Protecting the unfinished cake containing her emotions, Ichika decorated it with a rabbit design, triggering its transformation into an Animal Sweet and Sweets Pact, enabling her first transformation to purify Gummy and restore stolen Kirakiraru.

Key developments include reconciling with her father Genichirou after initial embarrassment at his teasing; she understood his affection when he protected a shortcake meant for her. She navigated complex relationships, like a brief crush on teammate Akira (before learning Akira is a girl) and mentoring Ciel, who initially admired her but later challenged her "performer" approach versus Ciel's technical focus. Her optimism was tested when antagonist Julio (disguised as Rio) manipulated her despair to steal her Kirakiraru, rendering her temporarily emotionless and unable to transform. She broke free by finishing cookies for her mother, later offering Julio redemption after defeating him.

In the film *Pretty Cure Super Stars!*, Ichika collaborated with the Hug! Pretty Cure and Witchy Pretty Cure! teams against Usobakka. After Usobakka turned their transformation devices to stone and kidnapped most members, Ichika and Cure Yell escaped to the Magic World. They helped rescue the captured Cures and aided Cure Yell confronting Usobakka's origin, Clover, utilizing time-travel to prevent his corruption. Ichika and the restored teams united to defeat Dark Onibi.

Her design evolves: Cure Whip wears a strawberry-themed dress with rabbit-ear accents. Super Cure Whip adds lighter pink tones, angular boots, and wings. A La Mode Style features a ballgown-like skirt with strawberry slices and a fluffy hat. Civilian outfits vary seasonally, often incorporating strawberry motifs.

She made a cameo in *Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!*'s finale, serving cake before briefly aiding a battle as Cure Whip—marking the first non-crossover film appearance by a Pretty Cure lead outside her series.
