Description
Himari Arisugawa is a profoundly shy second-year middle schooler at Ichigozaka Middle School, her social anxiety rooted in childhood experiences where her intense enthusiasm for sweets inadvertently isolated her from peers. Despite this reserve, she possesses deep scientific knowledge of confectionery, known as the "Sweets Doctor" for explaining sweets' effects on the body. Her passion surfaces in catchphrases like "Sweets Are Science!" and "Let Me Explain!" She carries "The Science of Sweets" by Tachibana Yuu, her future mentor. Physically petite with long brown hair in low braids and brown eyes, she typically wears layered tops with skirts and boots, specifically a white long-sleeved blouse under a yellow short-sleeved shirt featuring a green cherry-adorned ribbon, a mint green skirt, and brown boots.

Her encounter with Pulupulu, attacking a pudding she made with Ichika Usami, triggers her transformation. The squirrel-decorated pudding becomes an Animal Sweet and Sweets Pact, granting her Cure Custard form. This form embodies "intelligence and courage," themed on pudding and squirrels. Her appearance changes to orange hair in a curled side-tail, squirrel ears, and a large striped tail. Her costume is a yellow ruffled dress with white accents, a brown caramel-sauce-inspired peplum, a red cherry choker, and orange squirrel-themed shoes. She gains superhuman speed. Transforming, she declares: "With Wisdom and Courage! Let's・La・Mix It All Up! Cure Custard! Is Complete!"

Her development centers on overcoming social barriers. Initially reluctant to share knowledge fearing rejection, a pivotal moment occurs when she hesitates to explain a flamingo churro to a child but later intervenes, discovering her ability to communicate complex concepts accessibly. This breakthrough empowers her to confront Julio, using "Custard Illusion" to deflect attacks while criticizing his misuse of sweets science. Collaborating with Tachibana Yuu, who recognizes her dual passion, she becomes his assistant on the "Great Sweets Experiment" show. Battling self-doubt after a collapsed sponge cake, she learns resilience from Yuu's emphasis on passion over perfection, fortifying her against Grave's psychological attacks.

Later arcs show growing confidence. Encouraged by customers noting her improved sociability and Yuu's endorsement, she auditions for a sweets program. Though initially overwhelmed by the scale, she perseveres. Relationships are key: Ichika Usami ("Himarin") is her closest friend and fellow Cure, supporting her from their initial pudding collaboration. Aoi Tategami becomes a trusted ally through shared experiences. Yuu Tachibana serves as mentor and inspiration, validating her scientific approach.

In the film *Crisply! The Mille-Feuille of Memories!*, she travels to Paris with the Cures for a baking contest, participating in group activities including creating a mille-feuille to combat Cook. When Cook transforms the Cures into animals opposing their motifs, Himari adapts to her altered form. The group achieves a "Super Cure" transformation using the Miracle Kirakiraru Light, defeating Cook with the "Animal Go-Round Parfait Mémoire" attack.

As an adult, she works as a researcher, wearing a lab coat over a yellow shirt and green skirt, symbolizing her lifelong integration of science and sweets, channeling her curiosity, analytical thinking, and dedication to sharing knowledge professionally without her earlier inhibitions.
