Description
Kiyoka Musumi is a second-year middle school student at Heijou Institute. She hails from a noble family in Nara Prefecture that runs a prestigious kendo dojo, and she is recognized as a promising swordswoman with innate talent. Despite the high expectations placed upon her as the heir to this family legacy, Kiyoka harbors a deep personal aversion to real combat, which creates a significant internal conflict. Her duties as a Toji, a swords-woman who fights supernatural beings called荒魂, force her into battles that instill a profound fear about her chosen path. She finds escape from these combat anxieties through her primary hobbies, which are reading romance novels and fashion magazines.

Kiyoka is characterized by a timid, mild-mannered, and拘谨 (reserved) personality, often struggling to assert herself. She is not naturally inclined to stand out, which contrasts sharply with her prestigious background. In the broader narrative, she serves as an apprentice to the more experienced Toji, Hiyori Juujou. Her story role is primarily explored within the mobile game "Toji no Miko: Kizamishi Issen no Tomoshibi" and the spin-off series "Mini Toji," which presents lighter, everyday scenarios featuring chibi versions of the characters. In the game's storyline, she is made a member of the赤羽刀 (Red Feather Sword)调查队 (Investigation Team) and is sent on missions to investigate disturbances related to these dangerous weapons. Her interactions frequently involve other members of this team, such as the protagonist Mihono Asakura, Chie Setouchi, Kofuki Shichinosato, and Mirja Kitora.

Throughout the story, Kiyoka undergoes notable development, particularly as she faces situations that demand courage. A key moment occurs when the Investigation Team is cornered by the elite Guard Team; in that instance, Kiyoka finally overcomes her paralyzing fear and taps into her full potential to shield her companions, demonstrating that her innate skill is on par with the elite fighters. This act represents a significant step in her growth from a timid girl to a more reliable swordswoman. Her character arc is deeply tied to her御刀 (okatana), the sword Renge Fudou Teruhiro. It is revealed that her original sword, Ko-Ryu Kagemitsu, actually rejected her due to her perceived cowardice, a rare occurrence that forced her to switch to her current blade. Game data and lore hints suggest a possibility that she may later reconcile with and reclaim her original sword, symbolizing a full reclamation of her confidence and fighting spirit.

In terms of abilities, Kiyoka possesses exceptional swordsmanship talent that, when fully unleashed, is considered powerful enough to contend with members of the elite Guard Team. However, her fear of fighting often prevents her from accessing this full power. She is recognized as a capable support-type swordswoman, with abilities in-game that focus on healing and strengthening her allies. Her given name, Kiyoka, combines characters meaning "clear, pure" and "fragrance," while her surname, Musumi, translates to "hexagonal," which led to her fan nickname "Rokkaku-chan". Physically, she is described as being 154 cm tall with black hair and black eyes, and her birthday is August 30.
