Hana Isuzu, a second-year Ooarai Girls Academy student and Anglerfish Team gunner, hails from a family steeped in ikebana tradition. Dissatisfied with the perceived fragility of her floral artistry, she sought individuality through Sensha-dō—a choice that fractured her relationship with her mother, Yuri Isuzu, who disowned her over the pursuit. Despite familial strife, Hana upheld a poised, optimistic exterior, fiercely defending teammate Miho Nishizumi against pressure to rejoin Sensha-dō.
Initially the Anglerfish Team’s driver, a practice-match injury and the resonant blast of the tank’s cannon spurred her transition to gunner. Embracing this role, she honed precision striking targets up to 1500 meters, her shots pivotal in defeating adversaries like Saunders’ flag tank and Kuromorimine’s Maus. She approached combat with the meditative focus of ikebana, channeling artistry into tactical acuity.
A public ikebana exhibition showcasing her fusion of traditional grace and Sensha-dō-forged boldness mended ties with Yuri. Post-graduation of senior council members, Hana ascended to Student Council President, later confronting a hazardous mission to rescue a kidnapped teammate by triumphing in a spicy non-alcoholic drinking contest.
Beyond tanks, she preserved her heritage through ikebana while displaying a prodigious appetite, consuming double her teammates’ portions—a habit that earned restaurant blacklists yet occasional complimentary meals. Her spice tolerance proved formidable, outmatching rivals in challenges.
Her affinity for the compact Italian Carro Veloce L3/33 tank, which she compared to a floral vase, mirrored her aesthetic leanings. She also shared an appreciation for humor others deemed lackluster, a quirk noted during interactions with peers.
