Description
Tsugumi Hazawa is a third-year student at Haneoka Girls' High School and the keyboardist for the band Afterglow, affectionately called "Tsugu" by her friends. She assists at her family's Hazawa Coffee alongside Wakamiya Eve and Futaba Tsukushi.

Tsugumi possesses chin-length chestnut brown hair styled in a bob with a side-swept fringe and soft brown eyes, standing 156 cm tall. Her everyday style favors natural colors and feminine designs, often seen in cream cardigans, striped dresses, or patterned skirts with tights. Her initial band performance outfit was a gold tank top under a black leather vest, a sheer black skirt, gold-and-black boots, and a choker. Her updated band attire features a soft gold ruffled dress under a black hoodie bearing Afterglow's name, paired with black boots, yellow socks, a thigh strap, and an olive headband.

Personally, Tsugumi considers herself the most ordinary member of Afterglow, yet she demonstrates optimism, diligence, and a talent for uplifting her bandmates. She actively encourages the group to embrace challenges, like participating in the Girls Jam concert, and was the one who originally proposed forming the band. Despite her positive nature, she often downplays her own skills and achievements due to modesty, harboring insecurities about her abilities compared to others. These feelings sometimes lead her to overwork. While generally cheerful, interactions with unfamiliar people can make her flustered or anxious. She is observant of others' positive qualities and deeply values trust-based relationships, admiring the bond between dolphins and their trainers.

Her hobbies include collecting bath powders and stargazing; she has a talent for spotting the first visible star after sunset and knows about astrology, including her friends' zodiac signs and constellation myths. She enjoys reading shoujo manga and watching manga-based films, sometimes staying up late doing so. She prefers her mother's homemade cakes and dislikes black coffee. Additional traits include a fear of thunderstorms and an appreciation for dolphin shows, fascinated by the trust between animals and handlers. She has played piano for seven years and keyboard for three. As an only child, she expresses envy toward siblings who perform music together.

Within Afterglow, Tsugumi uses the "-chan" honorific for bandmates Mitake Ran, Aoba Moca, Uehara Himari, and Udagawa Tomoe, who describe her efforts as "Tsugurific". Beyond the band, she forms meaningful connections, such as with Hikawa Sayo during a baking event where she blushed at receiving compliments and later expressed a "strong sense of closeness". She also interacts with Udagawa Ako and Matsubara Kanon.

Her development includes advancing from first-year to third-year student and taking on greater responsibilities, transitioning from student council member to council president. While insecurities about her perceived "normalcy" persist, her role in founding Afterglow and consistently encouraging the band underscores her underlying influence and leadership. Her growing confidence is evident in her willingness to support others and form bonds beyond her immediate circle, like her collaboration with Sayo.
