Description
Saaya Yamabuki balances her third-year studies at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School with drumming for Poppin'Party and assisting at her family's Yamabuki Bakery, supporting parents and younger siblings Jun and Sana. Her close bond with classmate Kasumi Toyama began at their high school entrance ceremony, cemented through daily lunch traditions.

Previously drumming for middle school band CHiSPA, Saaya quit abruptly before a major performance—in the main storyline due to her mother's sudden illness, prioritizing family while fearing she'd burden bandmates; an alternate storyline cites her father's illness and added household responsibilities after her mother's passing. Kasumi's encouragement and her mother's support later reignited Saaya's musical passion, leading her to join Poppin'Party as its final member during Hanasakigawa's culture festival. She reconciled music with family duties after seeing co-written lyrics with Kasumi and hearing recorded messages, solidifying her band commitment.

Nurturing and empathetic, Saaya serves as an older sister figure in Poppin'Party and among peers. Her reliability makes her a trusted confidante, though she struggles to decline requests like tutoring Hagumi Kitazawa. She maintains friendships outside her band, notably with Tomoe Udagawa through shared drumming and sisterly roles, and Moca Aoba, a bakery regular. During her third year, she works part-time at live house RiNG alongside Kasumi and Taki Shiina.

Her interests include collecting hair scrunchies, karaoke, watching baseball, and romance films—especially Cinderella adaptations. After the "My Design, My Texture" event, she developed photography skills, later documenting Poppin'Party activities officially. Animals consistently avoid or react negatively to her interaction attempts. Standing 157 cm tall—a height shared with several characters—she favors spaghetti aglio e olio and cheese but dislikes raw seafood.

Saaya confronts anxieties about band stability, such as unease when Tae Hanazono considered temporary work with RAISE A SUILEN. Her journey highlights balancing familial obligations with musical aspirations while cultivating self-compassion.
