Description
Kanon Matsubara is a first-year student in the Faculty of Letters at Keiho Women's University. She serves as the drummer for the band Hello, Happy World!, having joined after Kokoro recruited her. Kanon possesses an extremely shy personality, frequently becoming nervous and overwhelmed, often expressing distress with her verbal tic "fuee". She struggles with significant clumsiness and an exceptionally poor sense of direction, getting lost even in familiar areas; Hagumi and Kaoru typically find her when this happens. Despite her directional challenges, she can locate her preferred cafes and shops by their smell. She also finds using trains and other public transportation difficult.

Outside the band, she maintains a close friendship with Chisato, dating back to their middle school years, and shares an apartment with her. Kanon holds a part-time job at a fast-food establishment alongside Aya. Her band responsibilities include contributing to its smooth operation, though she occasionally spaces out thinking about jellyfish. Over time, she develops greater courage and determination, taking initiative to challenge herself through activities like organizing solo street performances. She finds it difficult to decline requests from others.

Physically, Kanon has long, curly pale blue hair worn loose with a section pulled into a left-sided ponytail secured by a ribbon. Her eyes are violet, and she stands 156 cm tall. Her fashion leans toward frilly, feminine styles. Her initial outfit is an off-the-shoulder light blue knee-length dress with transparent frills on the sleeves and a small ribbon. Winter attire includes a cream-colored jacket layered over a bluish-gray dress with white floral patterns, dotted black pantyhose, and a teal ribbon for her ponytail. Summer wear consists of a baby pink T-shirt with frills, a checkered gray pinafore skirt, a loose pale red ribbon, and she often accessorizes with a red heart necklace.

Additional aspects include her fondness for delicious sweets, cakes, coffee, and black tea, alongside a dislike of mushrooms. Her hobbies encompass watching jellyfish, visiting cafes, drawing, and creating felt dolls—a skill learned from Misaki. Kanon demonstrates talent in art, having drawn since childhood, and excels at cooking, frequently preparing meals in the apartment she shares with Chisato. She has a younger brother with whom she spent time drawing during their childhood. She bears a striking resemblance to Nicolina, the princess of the fictional Happinelle Kingdom, who shares similar personality traits. Within the band, she has a tendency to break drumsticks during performances.

Kanon appears with Hello, Happy World! in "BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage", performing "Goka! Gokai!? Phantom Thief!" during the main set and participating in the encore song "RASHAPEOPLE!" alongside RAISE A SUILEN.
