Description
Kasumi Toyama, a third-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School, founded and leads Poppin'Party as its vocalist and rhythm guitarist. She resides with her parents and younger sister Asuka, nicknamed "Aa-chan," sharing a bond where responsibility blurs between them. Kasumi’s playful affection surfaces in childhood memories—stargazing with Asuka, offering lap pillows, and cheek kisses.

Her lifelong pursuit of a "sparkling, heart-pounding" feeling, termed the "Star Beat," began during stargazing. This quest led her to a star-shaped pawnshop guitar and forming Poppin'Party, believing their unity could capture that sensation. Her zeal to share this thrill drove her to recruit members, though clashes arose, like pressuring Saaya to prioritize the band over family.

Initially struggling with vocals and guitar, Kasumi faced a turning point after harsh feedback during Poppin'Party’s SPACE audition. Obsessive practice strained her voice and isolated her, ultimately reshaping her focus from perfection to collective joy. Her leadership evolved from impulsive optimism to balancing spontaneity with her bandmates’ needs.

Kasumi’s boundless energy and curiosity fuel her knack for connection. She teases the tsundere Arisa, shares heartfelt hugs with Rimi, and collaborates with guitarist Tae Hanazono through creativity and mischief. As a lyricist, she transforms daily moments into anthems like "Mae e Susume," weaving each member’s essence into verses charged with "sparkling" emotion.

Her appearance mirrors her vibrancy—brown hair styled with red star clips, purple eyes, and outfits ranging from orange hoodies to polka-dot dresses. The star-shaped hairstyle, often mistaken for cat ears, remains intentional.

She works part-time at RiNG live house, avoids horror and natto, and savors french fries, rice, and karaoke. Though forgetful and whimsical, she reflects deeply, comparing live performances to "living creatures" requiring care.

An alternate timeline reimagines Kasumi as withdrawn and self-doubting after childhood bullying, hesitant to sing. Here, high school contacts replaced her glasses, masking a bid for reinvention.

Her journey underscores resilience and collaboration, balancing passion with empathy to anchor Poppin'Party in shared purpose over solo ambition.
