Description
Rimi Ushigome performs as bassist and composer for Poppin'Party. Originally from the Kansai region, she occasionally slips into its dialect when nervous or struggling with language, causing self-consciousness. Her older sister, Glitter*Green's lead vocalist Yuri Ushigome, remains someone Rimi deeply admires and frequently mentions. Rimi plays a pink ESP Viper Bass guitar once owned by Yuri, imbuing the instrument with emotional significance.
Academically, she attends Hanasakigawa Girls' High School, advancing from first-year Class A to third-year Class B throughout the series. Shy and reserved, Rimi often compares herself to peers and yearns for greater confidence. Though prone to blushing and nervousness in class or social settings, she displays flashes of determination and inner resilience. Physically, she has black hair, red eyes, and stands 150 cm tall—making her Poppin'Party's shortest member, a trait she remains aware of. She wears red glasses while reading.
Her band journey started when Kasumi Toyama’s optimistic entrance ceremony speech caught her attention. Initially declining Kasumi’s invitation due to stage fright, Rimi joined after overcoming her fear during an impromptu performance filling in for Glitter*Green’s delay, becoming Poppin'Party’s third member. Regular performances gradually fostered her confidence and musical joy. She later faced songwriter's block while creating "Home Street," overcoming it with bandmate Saaya Yamabuki and community encouragement.
Beyond music, Rimi maintains daily photo and video contact with Yuri after Yuri studies abroad. She prepares for university by attending cram school in her second year. Her friendships include Misaki Okusawa and admiration for Hello, Happy World!’s Kaoru Seta. Within Poppin'Party, she uniquely addresses all members using the "-chan" honorific.
Interests encompass horror media like ghosts, zombies, and supernatural themes, plus video games and reading—though she dislikes haunted houses and mint chocolate. She relishes chocolate cornets from Yamabuki Bakery, meat, fresh cream, and chocolate-based treats, earning the nickname "Kore de ichi Korone." Prompted by Himari, she launches a blog reviewing sweets and pastries. Her family owns a chocolate fountain, and she co-wrote a chocolate cornet-themed song with Yuri.
