Tae Hanazono, nicknamed "O-Tae" by her Poppin'Party bandmates, attends Hanasakigawa Girls' High School as a third-year student. She lives with her parents and twenty pet rabbits, including one named Odd-Eye (or Oddie) whom she affectionately calls her "boyfriend." Tae possesses gentle green eyes and straight, waist-length dark brown hair with choppy bangs, including a distinct section covering her right ear. At 164 cm tall, she is Poppin'Party's tallest member. Her casual style often features mature, feminine elements like sheer fabrics and gems, with specific seasonal outfits noted, such as a pink fluffy sweater in winter and a mint green floral T-shirt in summer.

Tae displays a relaxed, airheaded personality, moving through life at her own pace yet occasionally surprising others with unexpectedly sharp observations about music. She maintains an optimistic outlook but frequently makes bizarre or unconventional remarks, a trait shared with her mother. Her intense interests center on rabbits and hamburger steak, sometimes leading her to daydream mid-conversation. Her affection for rabbits means she feels unable to eat rabbit-shaped foods, and she often compares people to rabbits, like likening Arisa's twin tails to rabbit ears. Despite a seemingly detached demeanor, she possesses a persuasive ability referred to as "puppy eyes."

Her musical journey started in elementary school when she began playing guitar. By her second year of high school, she worked part-time at multiple live houses and musical instrument stores, eventually managing the music shop after coworkers graduated and quit. She saved money from these jobs to buy her signature blue ESP Snapper guitar. Tae's connection to Poppin'Party began when she and Kasumi became remedial classmates in home economics. After school, Tae taught Kasumi basic guitar chords, sparking a connection. Initially skeptical of Kasumi's plan to audition at SPACE due to skill concerns, Tae challenged them to deliver a memorable performance. Witnessing Poppin'Party's passion during an informal show for friends and family inspired her, leading her to join as the fourth member, citing the sheer fun of performing together.

A significant development occurred when Tae reunited with her childhood friend, Rei Wakana (later LAYER in RAISE A SUILEN). Rei recruited Tae as RAISE A SUILEN's initial lead guitarist, citing a childhood promise to form a band. With Poppin'Party's blessing, Tae played for both groups but struggled to balance commitments, ultimately missing Poppin'Party's anniversary concert during a cultural festival. This incident prompted her to re-evaluate her priorities. After a final performance with RAISE A SUILEN, she parted ways with them, reaffirming her dedication to Poppin'Party. She later collaborated with Arisa to organize a party commemorating Poppin'Party's successful SPACE audition and wrote a song expressing gratitude to her bandmates.

Beyond music, Tae developed an interest in knitting and handicrafts, creating outfits for her rabbits. Her hobbies include non-competitive running, working with clay, taking long baths, visiting pet shops and music stores, and photographing rabbit-shaped objects. She sometimes invents blended words like "Rosepa" (Roselia + Poppin'Party) and admires guitarist Mortin. Her rabbits are named after famous guitarists like Les Paul and Jimi Hendrix, reflecting her deep connection to both music and her pets.

Though she attended music school with Rei and Arisa and considers Rei a childhood friend, Tae clarified that the Poppin'Party members were her first true friends, as no one had previously considered her a friend, underscoring the band's profound impact on her social development.
