Description
Tae Hanazono, a third-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School, serves as the lead guitarist for Poppin'Party, affectionately known as "O-Tae" by her bandmates. She shares her home with her parents and 20 pet rabbits. One rabbit, Odd-Eye ("Oddie"), she playfully calls her "boyfriend". The rabbit family includes Shiroppi, Purple-chan, Danjuro, and Doro-chan, inspired by her voice actress's real pets. Her profound rabbit obsession frequently pulls her into daydreams during conversations and prevents her from eating rabbit-shaped foods. She extends her naming theme to rabbits in the school pet room, dubbing them after legendary guitarists like Les Paul, Jimi Hendrix, and B.B. King. Her hobbies encompass visiting pet shops and music stores, photographing rabbit-shaped objects, non-competitive running, working with clay, and taking long baths. She enjoys hamburger steak, red-bean soup, and most foods, avoiding only "nothing too weird".

Beginning guitar in elementary school, Tae honed considerable skill through dedicated practice. She saved earnings from part-time jobs to buy her signature blue ESP Snapper guitar. Before joining Poppin'Party, she spent much time alone, immersed in music. She worked part-time at the live house SPACE before its closure and later at multiple live houses and instrument stores. Coworkers quitting after graduation eventually led her to manage the music shop. Her deep musical understanding and keen observations sometimes surprise others, contrasting with her airheaded nature. She maintains an optimistic outlook and makes unexpected remarks, often baffling those around her, and possesses a unique ability to persuade people using "puppy eyes".

Her Poppin'Party journey started in her first year when paired with Kasumi Toyama for a home economics assignment. Tae taught Kasumi basic guitar chords, prompting Kasumi to invite her to join the band. Initially skeptical of Kasumi's plan to audition at SPACE due to the band's skill level, Tae challenged her to deliver a memorable performance. Witnessing Poppin'Party's performance for friends and family—featuring Kasumi, Arisa, Rimi, and herself—revealed the joy of playing with others, and she joined as the fourth member, impressed by their potential and believing in the band's future. This marked a significant shift, as Poppin'Party became her first real friends, distinct from her childhood music school acquaintance Rei Wakana. Tae clarified that Rei, separated for years, did not hold the same emotional space as her bandmates.

Conflict arose in her second year when Rei (now Layer) and Chiyu Tamade (CHU²) invited her to join RAISE A SUILEN (RAS) as lead guitarist. Feeling she needed more experience—particularly after noticing drum marks left by RAS's Masking—Tae accepted, intending to balance both bands. This caused her to miss Poppin'Party's anniversary performance at the school cultural festival, creating strain. After a final live performance with RAS, Tae chose to leave them, reaffirming her commitment to Poppin'Party. She expressed gratitude by writing a song for the band and later collaborated with Arisa to organize a party for Poppin'Party's one-year SPACE audition anniversary, highlighting her loyalty and growth in prioritizing her bonds.

Standing at 164 cm, Tae is the tallest Poppin'Party member. She has gentle green eyes and straight, waist-length dark brown hair with choppy bangs, including a long section covering her right ear. Her casual style blends mature and feminine elements, often featuring sheer fabrics, gems, or rabbit motifs. Early seasons saw her in a blue short-sleeved shirt with sheer layers and sparkling accents, paired with white jeans and black ribbon-strap shoes. By the third season, her outfit evolved to a plain white shirt with a rabbit emblem, an oversized dark blue cardigan, black jeans with a brown belt, a small blue necklace, and white ribbon-strap shoes. Winter wear included a pink fluffy sweater with exposed shoulders and a black choker, while summer looks featured mint green flower-patterned T-shirts and high-waisted white pants.

Following the event "Do It Ourselves!!", Tae developed an interest in knitting and handicrafts, later creating rabbit outfits seen in "My Design, My Texture". She occasionally blends words, like merging "Roselia" and "Poppin'Party" into "Rosepa". She admires the guitarist Mortin, referenced in the anime's second season. In collaborations, her design was adapted for Saten Ruiko in the "A Certain Scientific Railgun T" crossover.
