Description
Tae Hanazono is a third-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the lead guitarist for Poppin'Party, affectionately called "O-Tae" by her bandmates. She began playing guitar in elementary school, honing considerable skill through dedicated practice. Her passion for music led her to work part-time at live houses and musical instrument stores starting in her second year of high school, funding her signature blue ESP Snapper guitar. She eventually managed the music shop after most coworkers graduated and left.
She lives with her parents and 20 pet rabbits, affectionately calling one named Odd-Eye (or "Occhan"/"Oddie") her "boyfriend." Other rabbits include Shiroppi, Purple-chan, Danjuro, and Doro-chan. Her deep fondness for rabbits extends to avoiding rabbit-shaped foods, collecting rabbit plushies, photographing rabbit-themed objects, and knitting outfits for her pets after developing an interest in handicrafts. She often daydreams about rabbits or hamburger steaks during conversations, leading to occasional lapses in focus. Tae also compares friends to rabbits, noting Rimi's gentle nature and Arisa's twin tails resembling rabbit ears.
Her personality is relaxed and airheaded, characterized by a self-paced lifestyle and occasional surprisingly astute observations about music or situations. She maintains an optimistic outlook but sometimes makes unconventional remarks, like blending band names into "Rosepa" for Roselia and Poppin'Party. Despite her calm demeanor, she demonstrates persuasive ability through "puppy eyes."
Tae joined Poppin'Party during her first year after initially doubting Kasumi Toyama's band idea due to perceived skill gaps. She taught Kasumi basic guitar chords for a home economics assignment, and Kasumi later challenged her to feel a "heart-racing" spark during an informal performance. Impressed by the group's potential and enthusiasm, she became their fourth member. She later clarified Poppin'Party members were her first true friends, distinguishing them from a childhood music school acquaintance, Rei, due to their prolonged separation.
In her second year, Tae temporarily joined RAISE A SUILEN (RAS) as lead guitarist at Rei and Chiyu's request but struggled to balance commitments with both bands. This culminated in her missing Poppin'Party's anniversary concert, causing tension. After a final performance with RAS, she reaffirmed her dedication to Poppin'Party and composed a song expressing gratitude to her bandmates. She later collaborated with Arisa to organize a celebration for Poppin'Party's one-year audition anniversary.
Standing at 164 cm, Tae is Poppin'Party's tallest member. Her attire often includes mature, feminine elements like sheer fabrics, gems, or rabbit motifs. Seasonal outfits feature a pink fluffy sweater with shoulder cutouts in winter and a mint-green flower-patterned T-shirt in summer. She enjoys hamburger steak, sweet red-bean soup, and most foods without strong aversions. Her hobbies include running (non-competitive), clay sculpting, long baths, visiting pet and music stores, and documenting rabbit-shaped objects.
She names school rabbits after guitarists like Les Paul, Jimi Hendrix, and B.B. King, reflecting her dual passions. A collaboration event featured her design based on Saten Ruiko from *A Certain Scientific Railgun*.
