Description
Laura Stuart holds the dual role of Archbishop of the Church of England and leader of Necessarius, its covert anti-magic division. Her political reach allows manipulation across Christian factions, the United Kingdom, and global entities like Academy City. Despite her apparent youth—mirroring an eighteen-year-old with crystal-white skin, clear blue eyes, and exceptionally long blonde hair measuring 2.5 times her height—her true age spans at least two decades, anchored in historical records. She meticulously maintains her hair, convinced sunlight enriches its hue, and dons beige robes in defiance of church attire regulations.

Her personality merges playful teasing with cold pragmatism. She shares informal banter with peers like Aleister Crowley and Queen Elizard, tolerating cheek from subordinates such as Stiyl Magnus and Kanzaki Kaori. She delights in extravagant baths (a gift from Aleister) and dons whimsical outfits like Santa costumes. Yet she engineers morally gray plots, notably deceiving Stiyl and Kanzaki into enforcing yearly memory wipes for Index Librorum Prohibitorum. This ruse masked her goal: controlling Index’s 103,000 grimoires through the magical restraint "John’s Pen." A harsher contingency involved severing Index’s limbs and imprisoning her in the Tower of London, acts Laura deemed essential to prevent magical knowledge abuse.

Politically, she twists alliances for power—annexing the Amakusa-Style Remix Church to bind Kanzaki Kaori, shielding Orsola Aquinas to sway Kamijou Touma, and aiding Academy City against foes like Lidvia Lorenzetti when advantageous. She mitigates punishments for valuable assets, such as securing leniency for Sherry Cromwell post-attack on Academy City. Her Japanese fluency, learned from Tsuchimikado Motoharu, carries quirks that embarrass her when mocked.

Her background conceals darker truths. Publicly active as Archbishop since the early 20th century, she is actually the demon Coronzon—originally summoned by Samuel Mathers. Coronzon later posed as Laura Stuart, a medium and Aleister Crowley’s daughter, to infiltrate the Anglican Church. This entity seeks to dismantle artificial systems (e.g., modern society and magic) to restore a "natural order" of birth and death. Coronzon’s essence inhabits Laura’s hair, enabling spells like Magick: FLAMING_SWORD (severing metaphysical bonds) and Aethyr Avatar (channeling angelic forces through her hair). Physical manifestation grants resistance to abilities like Imagine Breaker but spawns vulnerabilities during spellcasting.

Key relationships define her influence: a centuries-old, casual friendship with Queen Elizard, and calculated manipulation of Stiyl and Kanzaki via half-truths and emotional leverage. Her feud with Aleister Crowley originates from a contract with Mathers to orchestrate Aleister’s downfall, fueling their protracted conflict.

In the broader narrative, Laura advances Coronzon’s agenda through proxies. After exposure, she assaults Academy City directly via rituals like "Mo Asaya" to hasten global decomposition. Her defeat requires coordinated efforts from Kamijou Touma, Hamazura Shiage, and Aleister, ending with Dion Fortune succeeding her as Archbishop.
