Description
Agnese Sanctis, originating from Milan, Italy, was orphaned young and lived as a street urchin before the Roman Catholic Church took her in. There, she formed close bonds with Lucia and Angelene, eventually rising to lead the paramilitary Agnese Forces. Her early devotion manifested as fanatical ruthlessness against perceived enemies, viewing non-Roman Catholics as "animals" or "pigs" and justifying violence through church dogma. This included deceiving allies like Stiyl Magnus and torturing targets such as Orsola Aquinas during mock Trials of Sin.

Physically, Agnese appears slightly younger than Index Librorum Prohibitorum but of similar height, possessing an exceptionally slim build. Her reddish hair features thin, dreadlock-like braids. She wears modified Roman Catholic robes with shortened hemlines exposing her thighs, paired with 30cm platform shoes ("chopine") she insists reflect her aesthetic sense despite impairing mobility. A Roman Catholic cross necklace is consistently visible.

Her primary weapon is the Lotus Wand, a staff embodying the fifth element (Aether) enabling sympathetic magic: damage inflicted on the staff replicates on targets regardless of distance. She employs brainwashing via written commands to subordinates, sensory spells like "Apas of Prithvi" to detect magical residues, and combat rituals like the "Wheel of St. Catherine."

Initially an antagonist tasked with assassinating Orsola Aquinas, Agnese betrays allies and captures Orsola before being defeated by Kamijou Touma and the Amakusa Church. The Roman Catholic Church then scapegoats her unit, imprisoning them in the Adriatic Sea fleet as sacrifices for the "Rosary of the Appointed Time" spell. Rescued by Touma and Orsola, Agnese defects to the Anglican Church's Necessarius, severing Vatican ties but maintaining Roman Catholic practices as its representative in England.

Post-redemption, Agnese exhibits a more carefree, childish personality. She engages in mundane activities like laundry mishaps, card games, and playful skirt-flipping with allies such as Kanzaki Kaori and Orsola. Despite retaining traces of sadism, her loyalty shifts toward comrades, and she advocates helping others regardless of church conflicts, prioritizing daily life over political discussions during the Anglican–Russian Orthodox conference.

Her background reveals trauma-driven devotion masking deep-seated doubt, as noted by Orsola. After joining Necessarius, she resides in its women's dormitory, navigating technological incompetence while symbolizing reformed interfaith cooperation.
