Description
Ryūbi Gentoku, whose real name is Tōka, rules the Shoku faction. Hailing from a distinguished family, she inherited the heirloom sword "Emperor Jing's Heirloom." A male impostor stole both her identity and this sword, resulting in her disgrace. Determined to restore her name, she journeyed to reclaim the sword, encountering Kan'u Unchō and Chōhi Yokutoku's group. Their initial distrust stemmed from prior encounters with the impostor. Surviving two bandit attacks while traveling alone, one nearly involving assault, led her to accept Chōun Shiryū's offer of group protection for safety.

Her investigation revealed that Kōsonsan, an old primary school classmate whose real name Pairen she couldn't recall, pawned the sword to Enshō for food supplies. Enshō then traded it to Enjutsu for an "extremely rare robe that idiots can't see." With Shokatsuryō (Koumei) employing trickery mirroring Enjutsu's own methods, the sword was recovered. Later, defending a village from bandits, Ryūbi used the sword as a lightning rod to destroy a boulder blocking a lake, sacrificing the weapon to flood the attackers. Kan'u's counsel helped her see the nobility of this sacrifice for the villagers' safety. The villagers subsequently gifted her a new sword, believed to be a divine transformation of the original.

Following this, Ryūbi sought a vow of sisterhood with Kan'u, initially proposing to become Kan'u's younger sister. Chōhi objected as she already held that position. The resolution saw Ryūbi become the eldest sister instead, forming a sisterly bond with Kan'u and Chōhi. By the third season, they mutually accepted this familial relationship.

As Shoku's young queen, she practices pacifist leadership, contrasting with faction leaders like Sousou. Her naivety, indecisiveness, and clumsiness are notable, as is her dislike for paperwork, which often draws reprimands from Kan'u. Beneath her cheerful exterior lies a strong resolve to alleviate suffering caused by civil unrest. She prioritizes compassion and moral persuasion over violence, firmly believing conflicts can be resolved through reason. This idealism sometimes manifests as stubbornness, particularly in prioritizing ally preservation during wartime, occasionally leading to tactical disadvantages. Her charisma arises from selfless devotion to her people and friends, naturally attracting followers.

Her combat abilities are inconsistently portrayed: some media depict her capable of defeating foot soldiers, while others emphasize low proficiency. She possesses leadership skills effective in diplomacy and easily garners commoners' trust due to her background. Weaknesses include political inexperience, tactical impulsiveness driven by compassion, and occasional social tactlessness. A running gag involves her mother flinging her into a river for losing the heirloom sword. She is skilled in weaving straw mats, referencing Liu Bei's historical background.

In visual novel routes, her story diverges:
- **Shoku Route/Ryuuki no Taibou**: She first meets Kazuto (the protagonist) in an open field after his arrival.
- **Gi Route/Souten no Haou**: She participates in the anti-Toutaku alliance and attacks Shisui Pass with Kōsonsan. Post-war, her faction is targeted by Enshou and Enjutsu. Seeking passage through Gi territory, she refuses Sousou's demand to surrender Kan'u. Sousou eventually permits retreat but warns of inevitable conflict. Reluctantly, Ryūbi attacks Gi. Her principle of winning through compassion angers Sousou, leading to a failed offensive and eventual retreat after Gi reinforcements arrive.
- She develops romantic feelings for Kazuto, causing jealousy in Kan'u.

In other appearances, the OVA *Shin Koihime†Musou: Live Revolution* features her in the idol group "Tōen no San Shimai" alongside Kan'u and Chōhi. The 2010 fighting game *Twinkle Queen* included her as a representative fighter for the *Koihime†Musou* series.
