Description
Jinpei Jiba is the main protagonist of the Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Academy Y series. He is a first-year student at the elite Y-Academy boarding school, where he specializes in the study of Yo-kai Special Power and serves as the leader of the YSP Club.
Born on July 28, Jinpei is the human reincarnation of the beloved cat yo-kai Jibanyan. His past life perished defending against an alien invasion before his birth. His mother, Miho Jiba, died while pregnant with him, sacrificing herself to save a child from a falling traffic light, an act mirroring Jibanyan’s own heroic sacrifice. This legacy of heroism deeply imbues Jinpei’s character. His father, Jinjin Jiba, raised him with dedication.
Jinpei possesses a distinctive appearance marked by red hair styled to resemble cat ears, a trait shared with his previous incarnation. He wears the standard Y-Academy uniform, which features a red color scheme, along with a communication earpiece given to him by Enra Natsuki. On his left wrist, he wears the YSP Watch, his primary tool for channeling his powers.
His personality is defined by a strong sense of justice and an energetic, caring nature. He is deeply protective of his friends and approaches challenges with great enthusiasm. Merging with Goromi, a small, strong-willed yellow cat, turns him into the gun-slinging Wild Boy. Fusing with Bluepon, a blue cat yo-kai, allows him to become the magic-wielding Blue Moon. His most powerful transformations come from merging with Mikettio, a fusion of his three primary partners, which turns him into Earth Walker. Through training with the mysterious figure Zazel and further fusions, he can access advanced forms such as Earth Walker NOA, Earth Walker NOA Armored, Black Cat, and, with the later Majin Watch, the ancient hero Shikkokumaru.
