Description
Jessie's Wobbuffet joined her through an accidental trade at a Johto Pokémon Swap Meet, where her Lickitung was exchanged for this Pokémon previously owned by trainer Benny. This cemented its place with Jessie and the Team Rocket trio.

Initially perplexing Jessie with its lack of offensive moves, it proved its battle worth by unleashing powerful Counters against attacks like Chikorita's. Its steadfast loyalty to Jessie and Team Rocket emerged over time, often expressed through vacant stares, air-headed antics, and popping out of its Poké Ball spontaneously to join activities. While initially annoying, this became routine.

It evolved into a de facto fourth member, participating in motto sequences and comic routines. Despite its goofy exterior, it revealed flashes of strategic intelligence, sometimes ignoring Jessie's commands if it sensed a better tactic. Its battling style relied solely on defensive counters like Counter and Mirror Coat, effective under specific conditions but vulnerable to extremely fast attacks like Tyranitar's Hyper Beam.

Notable loyalty displays include abandoning a potential mate—Dr. White's Wobbuffet—to save Jessie from peril, explicitly stating (via Meowth's translation) that its bond with Jessie outweighed personal desires. It also selflessly shielded Ash's Totodile from a Golem's attack.

Beyond battle, it acquired diverse skills like cooking feasts for Pokémon gatherings and driving vehicles. An animated short showed it helping Meowth prepare food for a Sylveon-hosted party, wearing costumes for entertainment which offended Glaceon and Leafeon, leading to both being blasted off. Later, it misinterpreted a gathering of Umbreon's friends as hostile before recognizing their peaceful intent.

Temporary devolution into Wynaut occurred due to spacetime distortions caused by Dialga and Palkia, reversing after their conflict. Left at headquarters during Team Rocket's Unova mission, it actively rejoined Jessie in Kalos, showing enhanced battle resilience. It occasionally entered contests like the Hearthome Collection fashion show, though Jessie's styling choices led to poor reception.

Its personality balances submissiveness with unexpected agency, like recalling itself when frightened by admirers. The face on its tail sometimes moves independently, a trait that remains unexplained. Long-term exposure to Team Rocket enabled it to learn human-like skills such as disguise and food preparation, while maintaining its signature vocal exclamations as punctuations to team dialogue.
