TV-Series
Description
Go Seiba is one of the two titular protagonists of the series and the younger brother of Retsu Seiba. He is a fourth-grade student who is characterized by his energetic, rash, impulsive, and often impatient nature. His primary color is blue, reflected in his hair, eyes, and clothing, and he is frequently seen wearing goggles on his forehead, though these serve more as a fashion accessory than for practical use. Born on August 1st, his blood type is O.
Go's central motivation is a pure and passionate love for speed. This is most clearly expressed through his signature series of Mini 4WD cars, the Magnum series, all of which are designed and tuned to prioritize straight-line speed above all other attributes. His approach to racing is largely instinctual, relying on his drive and enthusiasm to push his car to its limits. In contrast to his older brother Retsu, who is calmer and more analytical, Go is impulsive and tends to act before thinking, which often creates a balanced dynamic between the two. His initial relationship with Retsu is defined by constant rivalry, but their shared experiences on the track evolve into a strong and cooperative teamwork.
Within the story, Go is a central figure in the domestic racing circuits and later a key member of the TRF Victorys, the Japanese team competing in the World Grand Prix. He develops close friendships and rivalries with other racers, including a significant bond with J, a former member of the Ōgami Corps who becomes his close friend and a skilled mechanic for the team. He also shares a spirited rivalry with the nomadic racer Ryo Takaba, which eventually transforms into a strong mutual respect.
Throughout the series, Go's character undergoes noticeable development. He begins as a boy who only cares about speed and victory but gradually learns the importance of teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship through his interactions with his brother and the many friends he meets. His notable abilities are tied directly to his intuitive understanding of his own racing machine. While he may lack the technical finesse of others, his sheer willpower and ability to coax maximum performance from his speed-oriented Magnum cars are his greatest strengths on the track. In later material set after the original series, it is shown that Go has retired from Mini 4WD racing to become a professional full-scale racing driver.
