Description
Sōgo Okita captains the Shinsengumi's first division, a police force in Edo. Orphaned young, he was raised exclusively by his older sister Mitsuba Okita, fostering an initially aloof and distant demeanor. He received early swordsmanship training under Isao Kondō at his dojo, developing profound, enduring loyalty to Kondō, whom he regards as a brother. His relationship with Tōshirō Hijikata, who joined later, turned strained due to jealousy over Kondō’s attention and Hijikata’s cold rejection of Mitsuba’s romantic feelings. This fuels Sōgo’s persistent ambition to usurp Hijikata’s vice-commander position.
Sōgo possesses light brown hair, red-brown eyes, and a youthful, frequently noted handsome face. He typically wears the standard Shinsengumi captain’s uniform: a dark jacket with gold accents, black trousers, white cravat, and boots.
