Description
Soma Asman Kadar, often called Soma, serves as the 26th prince of Bengal, his childhood shadowed by solitude within the palace walls. Neglected by a mother consumed with securing the Raja’s favor, he found solace in Mina, his maidservant, whose sisterly warmth became his emotional anchor. Her abrupt departure to England sparks his desperate pursuit to reclaim her, fueled by a deep-seated dread of abandonment.

Soma’s striking gold eyes and wavy plum hair—partially tied in a ponytail—frame a visage as vibrant as his embroidered sherwani and churidars. Gold earrings and a bindi accentuate his traditional attire, while the ruby-studded shawl he later gifts to a starving child hints at fleeting generosity. His charm masks a self-centered naivete, evident in his habit of deflecting blame and evading emotional confrontations, such as disregarding Agni’s visible anguish in London.

Agni, his reformed-criminal-turned-butler, remains pivotal to Soma’s journey. The latter’s unwavering devotion steers Soma until his death fractures Soma’s faith in humanity, replacing altruistic impulses like weekly curry bun donations with a thirst for vengeance. This stark shift underscores his fragile grasp on empathy.

Clashes with Ciel Phantomhive ignite Soma’s growth. Initially dismissive of the earl’s duties, he challenges Ciel to a duel, only to confront his own inadequacies. Ciel’s scathing critique of Soma’s reliance on inherited privilege forces introspection, spurring him to seek earned respect through diligence, such as managing Ciel’s estate.

The Indian Butler Arc unveils Mina’s resentment toward his past selfishness, culminating in his heartfelt apology and acceptance of her independence. His culinary prowess shines during a curry competition, though the event lays bare his fragility when facing loss.

In the Circus Arc, Soma’s protective instincts emerge as he tends to an ailing Ciel, balancing physical prowess in Kalaripayattu and Silambam with emotional tumult following Agni’s absence. His path traces a turbulent evolution from coddled prince to a figure tempered by grief, alliances, and the harsh truths of self-reliance.
