Description
Hideyoshi Tanaka is an orphaned New York street kid, approximately 14-15 years old, who survives by hustling adult basketball players using his exceptional skills, notably superhuman speed. This ability earns him a place on the Earth All-Star team competing against dominant alien teams in an intergalactic basketball league.

During practices and games, Hideyoshi experiences paralyzing migraines, later revealed as manifestations of his half-Goran (part alien) heritage. This heritage triggers physical changes, including the growth of horns. His sole memento from his unknown parents is a distinctive wristband made of elastic material exclusive to the planet Goru.

As the Earth All-Star point guard (Jersey #1), Hideyoshi's background as a resilient orphan fuels his boisterous and competitive demeanor. His development involves adapting from street basketball to structured team play within the team's intergalactic ambitions. He forms a friendly rivalry with DT (Jersey #9), Earth's premier point guard and fellow half-Goran. DT, who broke off his own horns and hides the scars under a skull cap, mentors Hideyoshi on managing their shared alien physiology.

The narrative follows Hideyoshi's integration into the team as he confronts the physical challenges of his emerging heritage. He contributes to Earth's efforts against superior alien opponents, leveraging his innate speed while gradually understanding his half-Goran identity through interactions with teammates like DT, emphasizing perseverance.
