Hideyoshi Tanaka is an orphaned New York street kid, approximately 14-15 years old, who survives by hustling adult basketball players using his exceptional skills, notably superhuman speed. This ability earns him a place on the Earth All-Star team competing against dominant alien teams in an intergalactic basketball league.
During practices and games, Hideyoshi experiences paralyzing migraines, later revealed as manifestations of his half-Goran (part alien) heritage.
