Description
Aoi Udagawa attends school with Ruli Tsukiyono and Mika Kashiwagi. She shares an active friendship with Ruli and helps manage the Lirurun social media account focused on paranormal investigations. Generally cheerful, Aoi sometimes exhibits hesitation or pensiveness during these explorations.
She lives on the 14th floor of an apartment building. Rumors of hauntings by Digimon in empty units cause many residents, including friends, to flee after terrifying encounters. Concerned by these events and a friend's warning, Aoi asks Ruli to investigate the supernatural occurrences in her building. During this investigation, a Hiyarimon's interference traps her on a mysterious 13.5th floor created by ClavisAngemon. Confronted by ClavisAngemon demanding a key she doesn't possess, keyholes manifest across her body, inducing terror. Espimon lends her his key to escape, violating a contract with ClavisAngemon. This transports her to a Pseudo Digital World where she witnesses Hiro's group battling ClavisAngemon. After the incident's resolution, she thanks Espimon and offers him a place to live with her.
Aoi's involvement with Ruli's investigations starts early. She is present with Ruli and Mika when they first discuss sightings of the "Sewn-lip Man," Clockmon, and supports Ruli's decision to investigate this Hologram Ghost. She later accompanies Ruli and Mika to the New National Ueno General Museum to investigate rumors of Mummymon. Her sigh attracts Mummymon's attention; she senses being watched but narrowly misses seeing the Digimon before rejoining her friends.
She continues to appear alongside Ruli in social contexts, such as attending a cake buffet with Ruli and Mika, where Ruli begins exhibiting unexplained symptoms of insatiable hunger and physical deterioration.
Aoi demonstrates a blend of sociability and vulnerability, particularly when directly confronted by supernatural threats emerging from the interactions between human and digital worlds. Her experiences, especially the traumatic encounter with ClavisAngemon and subsequent rescue, solidify her connection to the ongoing struggles faced by the main characters.
