Asahina Mirai, also known as Cure Miracle, is a second-year middle school student from the "No Magic World" town of Tsunagi. She possesses purple eyes and short, curled blonde hair partially tied into a heart-shaped bun secured with a pink bow, frequently wearing outfits featuring light pink, blue, and white across seasons. Shortly after her birth, her grandmother Yuki Kanoko gifted her the stuffed bear Mofurun, which became her cherished companion and later gained sentience when Mirai became a Pretty Cure.
Mirai's personality blends energetic curiosity, scatterbrained tendencies, and deep selflessness. She bursts with enthusiasm for unconventional ideas, often exclaiming phrases like "This is so exciting!" and "Did you just say○○?!". Her profound attachment to Mofurun reflects her capacity for emotional bonds, viewing the bear as a sister. She demonstrates self-sacrificial tendencies to protect loved ones and works diligently toward goals, especially mastering magic to earn her partner Izayoi Liko's admiration.
Her journey starts upon encountering Liko, a witch from the Magic World, leading to their dual transformation into legendary magicians Pretty Cure through Mofurun. As Cure Miracle, she wields light-based magic and purification powers, introducing herself as "The miracle of the duo! Cure Miracle!" with pink as her theme color. Their transformation requires holding hands with Mofurun while reciting "Miracle Magical Jewelry." They later access elemental forms like Ruby (fire), Sapphire (water), and Topaz (electricity) using Linkle Stones.
Relationships form Mirai's core development. With Liko (Cure Magical), she builds an inseparable partnership that evolves into co-parenting the fairy Ha-chan (Cure Felice), with manga implications of romantic involvement. Raising Ha-chan alongside Liko and Mofurun, Mirai displays an enabling parenting style contrasted with Liko's stricter approach. After defeating the final antagonist Deusmast, the separation of the Magic and No Magic Worlds forces Mirai to return home alone, retaining only memories and Mofurun as a plush while Liko and Ha-chan remain in their realms. During this isolation, she graduates high school and enters university, concealing her past experiences.
In the film "Miraculous Transformation! Cure Mofurun!", Mirai's determination surfaces when the Wishing Stone selects Mofurun for a wish, only for the bear to be abducted by Dark Matter/Kumata. She initiates a solo rescue mission, disregarding safety until Liko intervenes. Her emotional plea later reconnects with Mofurun, catalyzing Mofurun's temporary transformation into Cure Mofurun, underscoring Mirai's loyalty and the theme that shared wishes create miracles.
Years post-separation, a conversation with her grandmother reignites Mirai's hope in emotional connections producing miracles. Visiting the site where she first met Liko, she repeatedly recites magic incantations while expressing her longing, ultimately reuniting with Liko and Ha-chan, culminating her arc from solitude to regained companionship through unwavering belief.
In the sequel series "Witchy Pretty Cure!! ~Mirai Days~", Mirai appears as a university student who reunites with Liko (now a Magic World teacher) to confront new threats, indicating sustained interdimensional bonds and continued growth.
