Movie
Description
Christa Lenz originated as a false identity adopted by Historia Reiss, illegitimate daughter of nobleman Rod Reiss, following a coerced agreement to renounce her true name and royal heritage for survival after her mother’s murder. Rod Reiss offered Historia to the Military Police Brigade to avoid execution, leading her to enlist under the alias "Christa Lenz."

Growing up as Historia, she endured severe neglect and abuse. Her mother Alma openly regretted her birth and violently rejected physical contact. Confined to a Reiss family estate, Historia faced ostracization from other children and was forbidden from leaving. Her sole comfort came from secret visits by half-sister Frieda Reiss, who taught her to read and encouraged kindness—memories Frieda erased after each encounter. Historia immersed herself in books depicting idealized mother-child bonds, deepening her abandonment and self-loathing.

Within the 104th Cadet Corps as "Christa Lenz," she projected excessive kindness, shyness, and self-sacrifice, earning peers' admiration as angelic. This persona masked profound worthlessness and a martyrdom complex, exemplified when she nearly died dragging an unconscious cadet, Daz, through a blizzard. Ymir intervened, recognizing the act as suicidal ideation fueled by Historia’s belief her existence was a mistake and heroic death would grant value. Ymir protected her and manipulated graduation ranks to place Historia 10th, securing her a Military Police position. Historia instead chose the Scout Regiment to stay with Ymir.

Christa’s facade fractured after Ymir departed with Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover to protect her. Abandoned and disillusioned, Historia rejected the "Christa" persona, revealing her true name and declaring herself emotionally vacant. She claimed Christa possessed kindness while Historia lacked genuine substance. Adrift without Ymir or the constructed identity, she exhibited apathy and cynicism.

A turning point came during the coup against the royal government. Pressured by Rod Reiss to inherit the Founding Titan by consuming Eren Jaeger, Historia defied him, destroying the Titan serum. She declared she would live for herself. When Rod consumed the serum and transformed into an Abnormal Titan, Historia delivered the fatal blow, cementing her autonomy. She ascended as Queen of the Walls, replacing the false monarchy. At her coronation, she punched Levi Ackermann to assert authority—fulfilling a coup-planning suggestion—and adopted pragmatic yet compassionate leadership. As queen, she seized corrupt nobles' lands to fund orphanages and liberated the Underground City population, reflecting kindness reconstructed without her former need for validation.

In the anime compilation film *Attack on Titan Part 2: Jiyuu no Tsubasa* (covering episodes 14–25), Christa appears as a cadet. Her role includes interactions during training, such as bringing food to the punished Sasha Braus and confronting Ymir about Sasha's dialect. The film reiterates her gentle yet conflicted persona, without exploring her royal lineage or later identity revelations.

Post-coronation, Historia adopted a distinct appearance: blonde hair in a pleated updo, formal attire like pale coats, jackets, and court-appropriate boots replacing the Scout uniform. Her personality balanced resilience and empathy, focusing societal reforms—particularly aiding orphans and marginalized groups—to redefine her existence beyond past traumas.
