TV-Series
Description
Vita serves as the "Knight of the Iron Hammer" within the Wolkenritter, knights created by the sentient Book of Darkness. The Book also designates her the "Crimson Iron Rider." She possesses a distinctive childlike appearance, resembling an eight-year-old with fiery red hair in twin braids and blue eyes, a form maintained across all media despite her centuries of service guarding the Book. This includes later appearances where she is officially 24 but retains her small stature.

Driven by fierce loyalty to her mistress, Hayate Yagami, Vita seeks to fill the Book of Darkness in *A's* to protect Hayate from its life-draining curse. She targets powerful mages like Nanoha Takamachi, overpowering her in their first encounter using cartridge-augmented attacks from her weapon, Graf Eisen, and severely damaging Nanoha's device, Raising Heart. This dedication leads to repeated clashes with Nanoha, Fate Testarossa, and the TSAB. Initially dismissive of Nanoha, calling her "Nantoka," Vita eventually acknowledges her as an equal upon realizing their shared goal to save Hayate. She becomes the first Wolkenritter to sense a problem with their mission but persists due to loyalty.

Following *A's*, Vita officially joins the TSAB in May 0066 as Hayate's Special Investigator Assistant. During a late 0067 training exercise, she notices but fails to intervene in Nanoha's deteriorating condition, resulting in Nanoha's severe injury by a Gadget Drone. This failure leaves Vita with lasting guilt. By April 0071, working under the TSAB Main Office and preparing to relocate with the Yagami family to Midchilda, she uses transformation magic to interact with elderly croquet friends in Uminari City.

Six years post-*A's* in *StrikerS*, Vita holds the rank of 3rd Air Captain. She serves as a Tactics Teacher and Sub-Commander of Forward Stars in Riot Force 6, led by Hayate and Nanoha. Her protective instincts towards Hayate and Nanoha intensify. She battles adversaries like Knight Zest Grangeitz, entering Unison with Reinforce II. Confronting Gadget Drones identical to those that injured Nanoha during the Saint's Cradle assault, her guilt fuels a desperate attempt to destroy the Cradle's main engine. Critically wounded, she breaks Graf Eisen to inflict damage, later expressing feelings of failure before being reassured by Hayate. After Riot Force 6 dissolves in 0076, she accepts Nanoha's invitation to become a Tactics Teacher in the Aerial Tactical Instructor Corps.

Later media shifts Vita towards a more supportive role. In *ViVid*, she appears primarily within the Yagami household, attending the Intermiddle Championship to support fighters like Miura Rinaldi and Vivio, having been promoted to 2nd Air Captain. A special chapter (*Memory;ex*) explores her past as a Wolkenritter and connections to ancient Belkan emperors. In *Force*, she joins Hayate's Special Duty Section 6 to investigate the Eclipse Incident, adopting a new device, War Hammer, while maintaining her signature combat style under the callsign Aggressor 2.

The *INNOCENT* spin-off reimagines Vita as the youngest Yagami daughter and a third-grade student at Mutsuki Second Elementary School. Here, she participates in "Brave Duel" as the "Knight of the Iron Hammer," wielding Graf Eisen alongside her stuffed rabbit partner, Noroi Usagi. Her avatar, Gothic Knight, is customized with Hayate's help, reflecting a cheerful, competitive personality distinct from her main counterpart.

Vita's personality is marked by brashness, directness, and intense loyalty. She speaks bluntly and acts decisively in combat, specializing in high-impact physical attacks augmented by Graf Eisen's cartridges. Interactions with Nanoha and others gradually mellow her hotheadedness, making her more receptive to different viewpoints, though she remains prone to emotional outbursts, especially when Hayate or comrades are threatened. Her centuries of experience contrast with her youthful demeanor, creating a blend of seasoned resolve and energetic passion.
