Description
Cornelius Lutz served as a high-ranking admiral in the Galactic Empire's military under Reinhard von Lohengramm. As a lieutenant commander in 792 UC (483 IC / 3592 CE), he first met Reinhard while instructing him in dueling pistol use at an Odin firing range.
Lutz joined Reinhard's command after Reinhard's promotion to fleet admiral. He fought in the Battle of Amritsar in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE) and later participated in the Lippstadt War's Battle of Kyffhäuser alongside Siegfried Kircheis and August Samuel Wahlen.
During Operation Ragnarök, Lutz received orders to inspect the evacuated Iserlohn Fortress for explosives before becoming its commander. Yang Wen-li's forces deceived him, luring the Lutz Fleet away from Iserlohn. This allowed the Yang Fleet to retake the fortress and inflict heavy losses on Lutz's forces using the Thor Hammer. Commanding from the flagship *Skirnir*, the Lutz Fleet later participated in the Ninth Battle of Iserlohn under Oskar von Reuenthal, becoming the fortress garrison fleet.
In April 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE), Lutz sustained injuries in a Terraist bombing on Fezzan. During recovery, he expressed a desire to marry a nurse he met. After the Imperial capital moved to Fezzan, he lacked a specific assignment but attended senior admiral conferences.
Lutz died on 8 October 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE) during the Urvashi Incident, a large-scale assassination attempt against Reinhard. Fleeing on foot through a burning forest towards the flagship *Brünhild*, he insisted on staying behind alone to cover Reinhard's escape from pursuing soldiers. Lutz took a gunshot wound to the arm, then a head wound. Despite his injuries, he kept resisting until a falling, burning tree branch struck him. He received a posthumous promotion to fleet admiral.
His command style demonstrated caution, prioritizing avoiding unnecessary battles. He exhibited a protective inclination towards subordinates, refusing company while providing rearguard action during the Urvashi Incident. Lutz was recognized for his marksmanship skills.
