Description
Manami Okuda is a timid and introverted student in Kunugigaoka Junior High’s Class 3-E, hindered by underdeveloped verbal skills that contrast sharply with her scientific brilliance. Her discomfort with language drives her to seek refuge in chemistry, where formulas and equations offer unambiguous solutions absent from human communication.

This scientific mastery fuels her early assassination attempts against Koro-sensei, crafting poisons from sodium hydroxide, thallium acetate, and aqua regia. Though ineffective against their target, these experiments showcase her technical ingenuity, earning Koro-sensei’s guidance. Under his mentorship, she bridges literary analysis with scientific problem-solving, sharpening her academic edge to surpass elite peers like Natsuhiko Koyama and Gakushu Asano.

Her resilience surfaces during critical missions: aiding classmates to rescue abducted peers on the Kyoto trip, devising tactical strategies, and contributing medical expertise during Assassination Island’s viral crisis. In the Class 3-E civil war, she joins Nagisa Shiota’s faction, deploying specialized lenses to expose hidden adversaries. Eliminated early in the conflict, she openly endorses Karma Akabane’s calculated aggression, recognizing its strategic value.

Post-graduation, she partners with Kotaro Takebayashi to pioneer artificial blood synthesis using Koro-sensei’s formulas, gaining acclaim as a rising researcher. Her closest bonds include Kaede Kayano and Yukiko Kanzaki, frequent collaborators in academic and tactical endeavors. Interactions with Karma Akabane reveal mutual respect—he admires her scientific acumen, confiding in her during pivotal moments like the Test of Courage, while her focus remains steadfast on professional advancement.

Her evolution from self-doubt to confidence manifests in vocal advocacy for her class during rival confrontations and her decisive role in interpreting technical data for assassination plots. This arc highlights her transformation into a poised individual harmonizing analytical precision with collaborative engagement.
