His vision centers on forging a beautiful world, pursued through manipulation and ethically questionable research. He first met Alain during Alain's quest for an Ampharosite in ancient ruins. Lysandre challenged him to battle for the stone, defeating Alain's Charmeleon with his Pyroar. Following the victory, Lysandre invited Alain to Lysandre Labs, unveiling a project harvesting Mega Evolution energy for claimed peaceful purposes. He provided Alain with a Mega Ring and Charizardite X, demanding secrecy from Professor Sycamore to allegedly shield the professor's reputation from potential misuse of the research. Lysandre directed Alain's missions across regions, contacting him via Holo Caster to locate Mega Stones and observe battles, including Alain's Mega Charizard X against Siebold's Mega Blastoise. He later intervened in Alain's battle against Steven Stone in Hoenn, halting the conflict with his Pyroar. Lysandre then orchestrated a joint expedition with Alain, Steven, and Mairin to investigate a ruin housing an ancient megalith. This research accidentally summoned Rayquaza, which Mega Evolved and ravaged the area. Lysandre subsequently ordered Alain to investigate a Mega Evolution energy signal near Rustboro City while secretly instructing him to monitor Steven for the Champion's valuable Mega Evolution knowledge. Later, Lysandre oversaw Alain's battles against ten Mega Evolution trainers, using the data to advance his megalith research. When Mairin's Chespie was hospitalized after interfering with experiments on a Zygarde Core, Lysandre informed Alain that continued Mega Evolution data collection was essential for Chespie's recovery, further binding Alain to his agenda. Lysandre collaborated with Team Flare scientist Xerosic to study Squishy, another Zygarde Core, and later oversaw Z2's capture at Prism Tower. During the Prism Tower confrontation, his Pyroar and Mega Gyarados battled Ash and Alain; Pyroar employed moves like Hyper Beam and Incinerate before being defeated. His known Pokémon include a male Pyroar, utilized against Alain and at Prism Tower, and a Gyarados capable of Mega Evolving. Unlike game canon, Lysandre's initial meeting with Professor Sycamore occurred during the events of Mega Evolution Special IV, not as former student and mentor.
