Description
Princess of Planet Di Gi Charat, Dejiko (alias Di Gi Charat) was born to the Great Chief and Queen. After the Analogue King and Queen invaded her homeworld, she fled to Earth with younger sister Petit Charat (Puchiko) and guardian Gema. They settled in a vacant room above Akihabara’s Gamers store, working there for shelter. Her birth name is Chocola—though she dislikes chocolate—and her father granted the title Di Gi Charat to signify her royal heir status. Earth’s store manager nicknamed her Dejiko.

Her design includes bright green hair with split bangs, large green eyes, and a cat-eared hat. She typically dons a blue maid dress featuring bells beneath each ear and at her neck—all tied with blue ribbons—plus mitten sleeves, paw-patterned socks, and a tail. Continuity variations alter this: *Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat* outfits her in a pink dress and Mary Jane shoes; *Winter Garden* depicts her as a 20-year-old human with muted green hair, wearing Earth-style casual clothes like a plaid skirt and brown jacket. A 2008 redesign briefly gave her red eyes and a modified maid outfit.

Dejiko’s personality clashes with her cute exterior. She is hot-headed, lazy when unmotivated, stubborn when focused, and quick-tempered—often firing destructive "Me Kara Beam" laser eye blasts at irritants. She displays selfishness, disrespect, and responsibility avoidance, like ignoring Tokyo monster attacks. Yet she genuinely protects Puchiko, occasionally shows remorse (e.g., regretting attacks on rival Rabi-en-Rose), and in *Panyo Panyo* shifts to an altruistic, joy-spreading demeanor while retaining stubbornness. Her sentences typically end with "nyo."

Her primary ability is the emotion-triggered "Me Kara Beam," a building-destroying energy attack. Some continuities add doujinshi-creating skills and Comiket participation.

Key relationships include a close but dismissive bond with guardian Gema; a protective, sisterly dynamic with Puchiko (acting as her surrogate parent in *Winter Garden*); and a rivalry with Rabi-en-Rose (Hikaru Usada), whom she provokes by using her real name. She antagonizes spoiled princess Piyoko and the Black Gema Gema Gang, though they unite against threats like the Analogue Planet.

Her development spans timelines: *Panyo Panyo* features a kinder, younger version dedicated to helping others; *Di Gi Charat Nyo!* reimagines her working at a toy store with brashness but less otaku-culture focus; *Winter Garden* portrays her as a mature, soft-spoken maid café employee navigating adult relationships (including romance with Takurou Senba) and prioritizing responsibility. Later series like *Reiwa no Di Gi Charat* revive her core traits—eye beams, "nyo" tic, and Usada rivalry—while acknowledging her legacy.
