Description
Inaho Misora is a central human character introduced in the Yo-kai Watch series, first appearing as a playable protagonist in Yo-kai Watch 3 before becoming a deuteragonist in the animated series from its second season onward. Known as Hailey Anne Thomas in some English localizations, Inaho is an elementary school student, approximately eleven years old, who lives in Springdale and attends the local elementary school where she is placed in class 5-1, putting her around the same age as another prominent character, Nate Adams.

In terms of physical appearance, Inaho has light skin and distinctive purple or violet short hair cut in a bob with a full fringe. Her most notable facial features are her large, round glasses and her violet-blue eyes. Her typical outfit consists of a blue top with a yellow pattern on the left side, a pink cardigan with white and blue details on the sleeves, a white miniskirt, dark blue leggings, and yellow sneakers. On her left wrist, she wears her Yo-kai Watch, which she initially obtains as a prototype model called the Yo-kai Watch U. She later upgrades to the yellow Yo-kai Watch U-2, reflecting her progression in the story.

Inaho possesses a vibrant and highly distinctive personality that defines her role in the narrative. She is an enthusiastic and talkative individual who is unabashedly an otaku, with a deep and abiding passion for anything related to space, science fiction, and anime. Her obsession is particularly focused on the fictional series Pretty Space Guardian Sailor Piers, and she frequently draws parallels between real-life events and episodes from this show, a habit that often confuses or annoys those around her. Despite her intelligence and resourcefulness in certain situations, she can be an airhead who is easily distracted and tends to associate nearly everything with aliens or space-themed phenomena. When a situation is revealed to have no connection to these interests, she quickly becomes disappointed and loses interest. This single-mindedness means she often fails to notice how her antics affect her yo-kai partner, leading to frequent comedic clashes.

Her primary motivation and role in the story stem from her initial desire to prove the existence of aliens. After acquiring the Yo-kai Watch from a store, she meets a rabbit-like yo-kai named USApyon. While initially disappointed to learn he is a yo-kai and not an extraterrestrial, she partners with him. Together, they establish the InaUSA Detective Agency, dedicated to solving problems and investigating cases involving both yo-kai and humans in their community. This position becomes her central function, allowing her to act as a bridge between the human and yo-kai worlds.

Key relationships are central to her development. Her most significant partnership is with the grumpy and easily agitated yo-kai USApyon. Their dynamic is characterized by Inaho's unintentional provocations, which frequently cause USApyon to enter a destructive "Vader Mode" and attack her with a laser. Despite this friction, a deep mutual care and respect exists between them, and they are inseparable partners. She also forms a key relationship with Nate Adams, the original protagonist. As two humans who can both see yo-kai, they often cross paths, teaming up to face larger threats. Their interactions are a mix of friendship and rivalry, with Nate occasionally becoming irritated by her eccentricities. In her daily life at school, her closest human friend is Jessica Stonewood, a classmate who, while not sharing Inaho's intense interests, remains a supportive and loyal friend. At home, she lives with her parents and her younger brother, Riku, who is often portrayed as more observant and mature than his older sister.

Throughout her appearances, Inaho does not undergo a dramatic personality overhaul but rather experiences development in her skills as a detective and her ability to work with others. Her initial, purely selfish obsession with space matures into a more functional partnership with USApyon and a genuine commitment to helping others through their detective agency. Her primary ability is not supernatural combat but her keen observational skills, which, despite her airheaded nature, allow her to notice inconsistencies and solve mysteries. Her resourcefulness and ability to think outside the box make her an effective problem-solver, even when her methods are unconventional. She also gains the ability to befriend and befriend new yo-kai using her watch, expanding her team and her capacity to help those in need.
