Movie
Description
Nathan Adams, nicknamed Nate, is a young boy granted the ability to see and interact with Yo-kai after receiving the Yo-kai Watch. He sports brown hair in three distinct spikes and typically wears a red shirt with a star emblem, light gray cargo pants, and the Yo-kai Watch on his left wrist. He strongly dislikes being called "average," yet demonstrates courage and a sense of justice when defending his town or friends.

His grandfather, Nathaniel Adams, creator of the original Yo-kai Watch Model Zero sixty years prior, closely resembles Nathan but has tanned skin and wears different clothes, including a white tank top and blue cape. Determined and confident, inspired by the superhero Moximous Mask, Nathaniel initially struggles with trust due to past trauma from failing to protect a friend. He invented the Yo-kai Watch after discovering a Mysterious Marble near a river. He later married his childhood friend Lucy, had a son named Aaron, passed away, and was reincarnated as the Yo-kai Moximous N.

In the film, Nathan travels back sixty years to meet Nathaniel. Together, they confront the Yo-kai Dame Dedtime and her minions, Kin and Gin, who aim to prevent the Yo-kai Watch's creation and sever the human-Yo-kai bond. During this adventure, Nathaniel initially distrusts Nathan but warms to him, impressed by his resolve. Nathaniel overcomes his reluctance to rely on others, accepting help from Yo-kai allies like Hovernyan to defeat the villains. He ultimately gives Nathan his Model Zero watch as a keepsake.

Nathan's primary Yo-kai companions are Whisper, a self-appointed butler offering Yo-kai guidance, and Jibanyan, a cat Yo-kai and loyal friend. He also befriends humans Katie Forester, whom he later marries, and classmates Bear and Eddie. His childhood crush on Katie evolves into marriage, though his youthful attempts to impress her often backfire due to Yo-kai antics.

As an adult, Nathan loses the ability to see Yo-kai and no longer remembers his adventures. He holds an ordinary job but remains family-oriented, raising his daughter Summer and son Tate with Katie. Summer inherits the Yo-kai Watch Arcane, continuing her father's legacy by protecting humans and Yo-kai from new threats. Tate, resembling Nathan, initially dismisses Yo-kai as superstition but later becomes involved in their world.
