After being warned away from her, he redirects his focus to Hozuki, persistently seeking newsworthy material about her. This includes an encounter on a train where they sit near Peach Maki.

In OVA 1, Koban appears in Hell's red-light district. He becomes entangled with Hozuki during a storyline involving the training of male fox hosts.

Koban interacts critically with characters like the fox demon Gon, bluntly telling him, "You're not a fox, you're a tanuki." Despite their friction, Koban and Gon share an undesirable but inseparable bond, indicating a recurring, contentious relationship.
