Description
Yuuno Scrya, born an orphan in 0056 on Midchilda, was raised communally by the Scrya clan of archaeologists. Despite their support, his childhood felt lonely, fostering a profound appreciation for his heritage. During an excavation, he discovered the powerful Jewel Seeds. When the Time-Space Administration Bureau lost these artifacts on Earth, Yuuno journeyed alone to retrieve them, though why his clan didn't accompany him remains unclear. Injured in an early clash with a Jewel Seed monster, he transformed into a ferret to conserve energy and heal, leading to his rescue by Nanoha Takamachi, unaware of his true nature.

Recognizing Nanoha's exceptional magical aptitude despite his own incompatibility with its bombardment focus, Yuuno entrusted her with his Intelligent Device, Raising Heart. A force field mage, he specialized in defensive and support magic, excelling at barrier spells, search magic, and teleportation. His abilities included creating protective fields, healing wounds, and multitasking complex spells—skills later vital for managing the Infinity Library. Yuuno taught Nanoha magic and aided in sealing Jewel Seeds, often remaining a ferret to avoid suspicion. He revealed his human form to Nanoha mid-mission, leading to comedic misunderstandings in her daily life.

In *A's*, Yuuno provided tactical support against the Wolkenritter and the Book of Darkness. He utilized his barrier magic against adversaries like Vita while preparing large-scale teleportation spells. Despite combat contributions, he increasingly shifted towards research, leveraging expertise in ancient artifacts and Lost Logia. By the epilogue six years later, he served as Chief Librarian of the Infinity Library, wearing glasses and tying his hair with a ribbon from Nanoha. His role centered on administrative and scholarly duties, though he maintained close friendships with Nanoha and Fate.

In *StrikerS*, Yuuno appeared as a relic expert during an auction and briefly reunited with Nanoha. His primary work involved archival research, such as investigating the Saint's Cradle, with no combat involvement. Minor cameos occurred in *ViVid* with Vivio Takamachi visiting the library. The *Reflection* and *Detonation* films feature Yuuno. Alternate continuities like *INNOCENT* depict him solely as Nanoha's pet ferret, his human form appearing only in the *Brave Duel* game universe. Yuuno's development consistently shows his progression from combat-support mage to revered scholar, marked by unwavering loyalty to friends and dedication to preserving knowledge.
