Description
Hikawa Iona, alias Cure Fortune, is a disciplined 14-year-old second-year student at Pikarigaoka Middle School who hones her karate skills daily at her family dojo under her grandfather’s stern tutelage, balancing martial prowess with academic excellence. Her civilian guise features dark purple eyes and long violet hair styled with tented bangs, complemented by seasonal outfits—light purple and pink summer tops with layered skirts, and cozy purple jackets over grey shorts in winter.

Transforming into Cure Fortune brightens her hair to a luminous lavender ponytail adorned with gold star earrings and a pale lilac bow. Her battle attire pairs a crisp white ruffled shirt with a dark navy vest etched in gold, a flowing lavender skirt, and thigh-high white boots embellished with golden hearts. Alternate forms include Pine Arabian’s mint-and-emerald ensemble with gold accents, Anmitsu Komachi’s pearl-blue kimono dotted with sakura motifs, and the Innocent Form’s lilac hair cascading past her knees alongside a multi-hued skirt flaring into wing-like frills.

Initially aloof and uncompromising, Iona’s razor-sharp sense of justice fuels her solitary crusade against the Phantom Empire, blaming Shirayuki Hime for its invasion after Hime activated Axia. This resentment stems from childhood trauma: her sister Maria, the former Cure Tender, was captured by Phantom forces while shielding Iona, sparking her vengeful transformation. Her lone-wolf tactics clash with teammates, especially Hime, whom she brands irresponsible.

Megumi Aino’s unwavering optimism gradually erodes Iona’s defenses, teaching her the power of unity. A pivotal truce with Hime allows her to join the Happiness Charge team, while Yuuya Kaidou’s abduction during their first date awakens her Innocent Form through desperate protectiveness, symbolizing her embrace of vulnerability.

In the Doll Kingdom film investigation, her keen suspicion identifies supernatural anomalies, coordinating strategic strikes against Saiarks using the Fortune Tambourine’s Thunder Volt technique to defeat Black Fang. This highlights her evolution into a collaborative tactician.

Her bond with Maria shifts from guilt-driven fury to bittersweet acceptance, culminating in supporting Maria’s move to America. Hostility toward Hime softens into sisterly camaraderie through shared battles and shopping trips, while budding feelings for Yuuya reveal unexpected tenderness. Iona’s journey from isolated avenger to interconnected guardian underscores the transformative strength of trust, forgiveness, and love, her combat brilliance now amplified by emotional resilience and reliance on allies.
