TV-Series
Description
Hanako Mikado, often called by the nickname Hana, is the younger sister of the series' protagonist, Gao Mikado. She is a third-grade student at Aibo Academy, and her age and role in the story firmly place her as a young and supportive family member looking up to her older brother.

Personality-wise, Hanako is depicted as an upbeat and energetic little girl. Her most defining trait is her profound admiration and support for her brother, Gao. She is a constant presence at his buddyfights, cheering him on enthusiastically even when others might find his behavior embarrassing. She openly expresses how cool she thinks he is, particularly when he adopts the persona of the Mighty Sun Fighter. This devotion to her brother is the core of her character, showcasing a typical case of younger sibling hero-worship. Beyond her brother, she is also a fan of his rival and friend, Tasuku Ryuenji. Her energetic nature drives her to want to be involved, often trying to tag along with Gao and his group of friends.

Hanako's primary motivation stems from her love for her family and her desire to be part of the buddyfighting world that her brother inhabits. She begins as a pure spectator but quickly develops a desire to learn and play the game herself. This aspiration is a significant driver for her actions, pushing her from being just a sideline supporter to an active participant, even if only as a beginner.

In the story, Hanako's role is largely that of a supportive family member and a source of encouragement for the main characters. She is not a primary fighter but often appears in the background, cheering on her brother and his team, Balle du Soleil. Several key moments define her involvement. A notable event is when she meets Bal Dragon shortly after he hatches. She immediately adores the small dragon, and the two form a strong bond, often seen playing buddyfight together. This relationship with Bal is instrumental in her learning the game. In a later season, she becomes involved in a more unusual situation when her brother Gao turns into a ghost from overusing an Impact card, leading to a confrontation with a Legend World entity who shares her name.

Her most important relationship is with her brother, Gao. She is his biggest fan and her unwavering support is a constant in his life. She also shares a close friendship with his buddies, including Drum, Batzz, and especially Bal Dragon. Her bond with Bal is particularly significant as they are often seen practicing together, allowing her to step into the role of a budding buddyfighter herself. Her admiration for Tasuku Ryuenji also places her as a fangirl of one of the series' other key fighters.

Hanako's development as a character is subtle but clear. She transitions from a simple spectator to a beginner buddyfighter who actively practices the game. While she does not achieve the same level of skill as the main cast, her learning journey highlights her growth and dedication. Her presence in later seasons and her involvement in more complex scenarios, such as the ghost incident, show her increasing integration into the buddyfighting world beyond just being Gao's sister.

In terms of abilities, Hanako is a beginner at buddyfighting, learning the rules and practicing with Bal Dragon. In the context of the card game itself, she is honored with a spell card named after her, "Buddyfight Triple T 'Hanako Mikado'". The flavor text on this card reads, "My brother, thank you as always!" This card's effect is designed to add cards to the gauge, and it receives an enhancement if a Sun Dragon is on the field, directly tying her in-game representation to her brother and his signature monster type. She is described as having pink hair and orange eyes.
