Later discoveries confirm Bernard is the son of Angelique's relatives. After her parents perished during a Thanatos attack on her village, Angelique lived with these relatives, making Bernard her adoptive older brother during that time. However, he left to pursue a career in media, resulting in a prolonged separation where they did not see each other until their paths crossed again during his reporting.

Following this reunion and the revelation of their familial relationship, Angelique begins referring to him as "nii-san," meaning big brother.
