Drayden is the Gym Leader of Opelucid City in the Unova region. He joins fellow Unova Gym Leaders in storming N's Castle to confront Team Plasma, battling their grunts directly with his Haxorus. Later, in Opelucid City itself, Drayden faces Team Plasma forces again. This confrontation shifts dramatically when Team Plasma scientist Colress activates an experimental weapon harnessing the power of the Legendary Kyurem, generating massive, indestructible icicles. These rapidly overwhelm the city's defenses. Despite his resistance, Drayden is defeated by Team Plasma's assault, intensified by Colress's technology.
