Michael McConnohie is an American voice actor, writer, and director with a career spanning from the late 1970s to the present. Born on July 23, 1951, in Mansfield, Ohio, he has become a highly prolific figure in the animation and video game industries, particularly known for his extensive work in English dubs of anime.

McConnohie broke into voiceover during the late 1970s with roles on English-dubbed anime series. He gained early mainstream success with his performance as the enigmatic title character in the 1985 fantasy horror film Vampire Hunter D, also voicing D's Left Hand. This role helped establish him in the industry, leading to work on iconic Western animated series like The Transformers, where he voiced Cosmos and Tracks, and G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero as Cross-Country.

Throughout his career, McConnohie has provided voices for a vast number of anime series. He is frequently cast in roles of authority, mentors, and antagonists. Notable performances include Charles zi Britannia in Code Geass, the Narrator in both Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and Hunter x Hunter, Ryūken Ishida in Bleach, and Enma in Naruto. He has also taken on roles in numerous other series, such as The Seven Deadly Sins as King Bartra Liones and Twigo, Schwarzwald in The Big O, Rolf Emerson in Robotech, and Norris Packard in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. His filmography also includes parts in Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki as Minami Kuramitsu, Street Fighter IV as Seth, and Fist of the North Star as Shin.

Beyond anime, McConnohie has an extensive and renowned career in video game voice acting. He is particularly celebrated within the Warcraft universe, having voiced iconic characters such as the Lich King, Uther the Lightbringer, and Kel'Thuzad across multiple Warcraft III and World of Warcraft titles. His other significant video game credits include the Necromancer in Diablo II, Kano in the Mortal Kombat franchise, Astaroth in the Soulcalibur series, and Van Grants in Tales of the Abyss.

In addition to performing, McConnohie is a writer and voice director. He has written numerous episodes for series like Digimon and has served as an ADR director and script adaptation writer for various anime projects. He and fellow actress Melodee Spevack run VoxWorks, a Las Vegas-based production company that provides voiceover and dubbing services.
