Description
Ginta Toramizu, a 14-year-old boy, is an avid fan of fantasy stories and often dreams of a magical world. One day, he is transported to a parallel universe called MÄR Heaven, where magic and magical items known as ÄRMs are commonplace. In this world, Ginta discovers he possesses enhanced physical abilities and is chosen to wield Babbo, a sentient ÄRM with immense power. Babbo, initially appearing as a small, talking wooden doll, transforms into a powerful weapon when activated.
Ginta learns that MÄR Heaven is under threat from the Chess Pieces, a malevolent organization led by the enigmatic Phantom. The Chess Pieces aim to conquer MÄR Heaven by collecting powerful ÄRMs and eliminating anyone who opposes them. Ginta joins a group of warriors known as the MÄR Team, which includes allies such as Snow, a skilled ice mage; Jack, a swordsman with a tragic past; and Alan, a noble knight. Together, they embark on a mission to stop the Chess Pieces and protect MÄR Heaven.
The narrative unfolds through a series of battles and challenges as the MÄR Team confronts members of the Chess Pieces, each of whom wields unique and dangerous ÄRMs. Ginta’s journey is marked by personal growth, as he learns to harness Babbo’s power and develop his own combat skills. Along the way, the team uncovers deeper mysteries about the origins of ÄRMs, the true nature of Phantom’s plans, and the connection between MÄR Heaven and Ginta’s own world.
The story balances action-packed battles with moments of camaraderie and character development, exploring themes of friendship, courage, and the struggle between good and evil. As the conflict escalates, Ginta and his allies face increasingly formidable opponents, culminating in a climactic showdown against Phantom and the Chess Pieces. Ginta's team encounters a boy named John Peach, who loudly proclaims himself the hero destined to save MÄR-Heaven from the Chess Pieces. Peach steals gold from a group of thieves, claiming the reward as his own. The same thieves possess a powerful spider ÄRM, which Peach later obtains by accident. Believing himself a true hero, Peach challenges Ginta to a match to prove his strength. Snow intervenes and declares the contest will be a race instead of a direct fight. During the race, Peach activates the stolen spider ÄRM without understanding its nature. Dorothy explains that the spider ÄRM is extremely rare because no one can control it. The only way to stop the spider once summoned is for it to consume its user. Peach learns this truth too late as the spider turns on him and nearly devours him. Ginta rescues Peach from the spider's attack, preventing his death. After the incident, Peach admits his weaknesses and vows to become stronger rather than pretending to be a hero. The team moves on, but Peach's reckless activation of the spider ÄRM foreshadows the dangers of wielding power without understanding its cost.
16The War Games Commence
The Chess Pieces announce the War Game across Vestry and the rest of MÄR-Heaven. The announcement draws all adversaries to Reginrave Castle, which hosts the preliminary round. The preliminary round begins with multiple fighters entering the arena. The round concludes with heavy casualties among the participants. Only Gaira survives the preliminary round alongside Ginta's team and Alviss. The other salvaged fighters fail to emerge alive from the round. Ginta and his companions witness the brutal elimination of their allies. The War Game proves immediately lethal, eliminating most of the opposition forces in a single round. That meeting results in Phantom cursing Alviss with a Zombie Tattoo. The tattoo remains a permanent blemish on Alviss's body. Leno attempts to exploit the tattoo's weakness during their duel. Alviss overcomes the disadvantage and defeats Leno using his ÄRM abilities. The victory advances Alviss to the next round of the tournament. Alibaba deliberately prolongs the fight, aiming to ascend from Rook to Knight class by defeating a high-ranking opponent. Alan awakens from his slumber inside Edward to confront Alibaba. Alan faces Alibaba's Guardian, Genie's Lamp, and destroys it with minimal effort. Alibaba's overconfidence crumbles as Alan demonstrates overwhelming power. Alan then grabs Alibaba and casually tosses him into the volcano below. The defeat eliminates Alibaba from the War Games and ends his attempt at promotion. Jack previously lost to Pano, but his continuous training since that defeat finally produces tangible results. He deploys his Magic Mushroom ARM against Pano's primal Weapon ARM. The hallucinatory toadstools released by Jack directly counter Pano's straightforward combat style. The fungi disorient Pano and neutralize her weapon's effectiveness. Jack secures victory for his team by overwhelming his opponent without sustaining major damage. Following the defeat, Pano reacts in an unexpected manner by developing romantic affection toward Jack. Jack stands confused by this sudden shift in Pano's attitude toward him. The match concludes with Jack advancing his standing in the War Game competition. The War Game continues as remaining fighters prepare for subsequent matches.
27Snow at the Volcano Mountain Range Field
The third round of the War Games enters its third battle. The stage transforms into a volcano mountain range. Snow confronts Mr. Hook,a pirate serving the Bishop. Mr. Hook exploits the heated battlefield to gain an advantage. The high temperatures directly counter Snow's ice-elemental ÄRMs. Her ice attacks lose effectiveness against the volcanic environment. Snow fights with courage despite the unfavorable conditions. The intense heat drains her magical power at an accelerated rate. Her magic reserves drop to half of their normal capacity. The reduced power eventually becomes insufficient to maintain her attacks. Mr. Hook capitalizes on her weakened state. Snow's defeat leaves the team facing a significant disadvantage for the remaining matches.
28Episode 28
29Another Zombie Tattoo! Alviss VS Rolan!!
The third battle enters its fifth round on a volcano stage. Alviss spars against Rolan,a young knight proficient in explosive Nature ÄRM. Rolan unleashes ceaseless blows with his ÄRM, putting Alviss on the defensive. During the fight, Alviss discovers that Rolan also bears a Zombie Tattoo, the same curse of immortality that marks Alviss himself. Unlike Alviss, Rolan does not harbor a grudge against the tattoo and accepts its power without resentment. This revelation shocks Alviss, leaving him no time to recover his composure. Rolan exploits the opening and continues his relentless assault. The combined effects of the psychological shock and Rolan's attacks exhaust Alviss's magic power. Alviss falls hors de combat, unable to continue the match. The defeat eliminates Alviss from this round of the tournament. With Alviss beaten, the team must face the next opponent without one of their key fighters.
30Episode 30

Jack attempts to block her attack, but his ÄRM fails to stop her advance. Diana's speed and power exceed those of the previous Chess Piece opponents. She defeats Jack with a single, decisive blow. Nanashi arrives to assist the fallen Jack. He uses his sword techniques to strike at Diana, but she evades each attack effortlessly. The Queen reveals her ÄRM, Todeskrone, which creates a deadly field around her. The MÄR team struggles to mount any effective counterattack against her. Ginta rushes toward the battlefield, unaware of the full extent of the Queen's capabilities.
31Kessen e no Michi
The second round of the War Games continues inside the Luberia arena. Team MÄR faces the Chess Pieces with both sides having one win each. Ginta assigns Jack to fight against Rapunzel in the third match. Rapunzel activates her ÄRM "Fleeting Hair" to control and extend her hair for long-range attacks. Jack counters by transforming his Hammer ÄRM into a shield to block the hair strikes. He struggles to close the distance as Rapunzel maintains her offensive from a safe position. Jack then switches tactics and uses his Hammer ÄRM's grappling hook function to pull himself toward her. The sudden move catches Rapunzel off guard and breaks her rhythm. Jack lands a direct hit with the Hammer's blunt force, knocking Rapunzel out of the ring. The victory gives Team MÄR a 2-1 lead in the overall match. Princess Snow immediately challenges Ginta to select the next fighter, but the Chess Pieces prepare to send out their remaining strong members. The episode ends with Ginta stepping forward to face the Chess Pieces' next champion, setting the stage for the decisive fourth battle.
32Episode 32
Ian summons a flame golem using his ÄRM. The golem's fiery fists strike the arena floor, sending shockwaves toward Ginta. Ginta dodges several attacks but cannot get close to Ian. Ian laughs and tells Ginta that his teammates will die one by one. Ginta clenches his fists and shouts that he will not let that happen. Babbo's eye glows red as Ginta's anger spikes. Babbo asks Ginta if he wants to use a forbidden transformation. Ginta agrees without hesitation. Babbo changes shape into a large hammer. Ginta swings the hammer and crushes the flame golem's head. The golem explodes into embers, and the force throws Ian against the arena wall. Ian tries to stand but collapses from the damage. The referee raises Ginta's hand as the winner. Chess Piece members carry Ian away on a stretcher. Phantom orders the next fighter to prepare. Alviss notes that Ginta's rage nearly consumed him. Dorothy worries about Ginta's reckless use of Babbo's power. The episode closes with Ginta breathing heavily, still gripping Babbo as the next opponent enters the arena.
33Team MÄR on the Ropes
The fourth battle of the War Games continues on the ice field stage with the second round. Jack faces Korekkio in a matchup that demands strategic thinking. Jack relies on his wits rather than brute force to overcome his opponent. His clever tactics secure the victory and send Korekkio to the same fate as the late Mr. Hook. The ice field stage then hosts the third round of the same battle. Dorothy confronts Bishop Avrute with overwhelming speed and precision. She defeats the bishop so swiftly that he cannot launch a single counterattack. Avrute also fails to salvage any chance for his life in the subsequent game of Janken with Rapunzel. Team MÄR claims two consecutive wins, eliminating key members of the opposing Chess Pieces. The opposing forces lose valuable fighters, shifting the momentum of the War Games. Phantom demonstrates superior ÄRM skills and combat experience, outclassing Ginta in their direct exchange. Ginta struggles to match Phantom's speed and power but refuses to back down from the clash. Their battle reaches a stalemate as neither can deliver a decisive blow against the other. Phantom withdraws from the fight effortlessly, showing he held back his full strength. Ginta stands defeated in skill but not in will, left alone to question Phantom's true intentions. The encounter reveals a gap in power between Ginta and the Chess Pieces' top commander. Ginta broods over why Phantom chose to retreat rather than finish the fight. Diana's strategy remains unclear as Phantom returns without eliminating Team MÄR's key fighter. He uses this power to drain Alviss's strength during the fight. Alviss struggles as his magical energy diminishes rapidly. Despite the disadvantage, Alviss summons a new Guardian that no one has seen before. This unknown Guardian turns the tide of the battle. Alviss defeats Hamelin and secures victory for his team. The other characters watch with confusion and suspicion. They question the identity and origin of Alviss's mysterious new Guardian. The battle reaches a climax when Jack lands a precise hit on a weak point, shattering the Guardian Armor. Galian collapses, defeated but alive, and Jack advances to the next round. Elsewhere in the arena, Alviss watches the Chess Pieces from the shadows. His rage over Alan's death boils over, and he decides to confront Phantom directly despite the risks. The episode cuts to Phantom, who shows no concern for Galian's loss and remains focused on eliminating the remaining War Games participants. Alviss steps onto the battlefield, his hand gripping his ÄRM, and declares his intention to avenge his master. The immediate hook comes as Phantom turns to face the approaching Alviss, setting up a direct confrontation between the young warrior and the series' primary antagonist.

Ian emerges from the perilous Training Gate. He gains power equivalent to the Knight class during his time inside. Phantom commands Ian to challenge Rapunzel for her Knighthood. Ian confronts Rapunzel and incinerates the butcher madwoman. Girom witnesses Rapunzel's death firsthand. Phantom claims Ian as his Knight after the victory. The Chess Pieces lose a member and gain a more dangerous fighter. Edward and Babbo speculate about the upcoming banquet. They believe Dorothy and Snow will fight over Ginta at the event. Belle's fairy power remains the target of the criminals. Alviss sustains injuries during the rescue attempt, as the episode title indicates. His rage drives him to tolerate no leniency toward the perpetrators. The confrontation forces the hoodlums to abandon their plan. Alviss successfully rescues Belle from captivity. The episode ends with Alviss wounded but victorious, setting up his continued struggle to protect those close to him in the coming battles.

Phantom counters with the Darkness ÄRM, engulfing Alviss in shadows. Alviss breaks free using his Guardian ÄRM, Hammer Lord. Phantom summons multiple copies of himself, surrounding Alviss. Jack uses his ÄRM to create a wind barrier, shielding Snow and Dorothy from the copies' attacks. Dorothy identifies the real Phantom through her magical detection. Ginta attempts to charge past the barrier but gets repelled by an invisible wall. Alviss decides to use the forbidden ÄRM, Gargoyle. The transformation drains Alviss's life force as his powered-up form punches through Phantom's defense, setting up a direct confrontation in the next episode.
51Episode 51
The Chess Pieces deploy the Zombie Army, resurrected members of their fallen team. The zombie warriors march onto the War Games field and surround the MÄR soldiers. Ginta activates his ÄRM, Babbo, to strike down several zombies, but they regenerate quickly. Snow uses her Ice ÄRM to freeze a group of zombies, but the frozen limbs shatter and reform. Jack and Nanashi coordinate their attacks, destroying zombie after zombie without reducing the army's numbers. The Zombie Army's regeneration ability stems from Phantom's ÄRM, which the episode reveals as the source of their immortality. Phantom watches from a distance, manipulating the zombies to exhaust MÄR's stamina and ÄRM power. The episode ends with Phantom stepping onto the battlefield and challenging Ginta to a final duel.

Victory would allow him to make everyone who mistreated him suffer. Alviss shows no sympathy for Kouga's grievances and begins the battle. He unleashes his new Guardian, demonstrating a significant increase in power. The Guardian's overwhelming strength leaves Kouga with no effective counter. Alviss secures a decisive victory without sustaining any damage. With Kouga defeated, Alviss advances further in the tournament, but the other Chess Pieces members now have a clearer view of his new abilities.

Jack defends her from a sudden ambush by a low-level Chess Piece soldier, buying her enough time to recover. Snow observes the battle from a distance and decides to intervene, unleashing a freezing attack that incapacitates the attacker. The soldier retreats, revealing that the trap was merely a diversion to separate the group. Back in the main chamber, Alan confronts a Chess Pieces general who mocks the humans' chances. The explosion leaves both combatants without any ÄRM to continue the fight. Phantom discards magical tactics and charges at Ginta to settle the battle with physical combat. Phantom lands several blows on Ginta, attempting to overpower him through raw strength. Ginta refuses to yield and withstands each attack through his unbroken willpower. Ginta finds an opening and lands the decisive counterattack that brings Phantom down. Phantom's defeat ends his personal threat to Ginta and the alliance forces. The Chess Pieces lose their most powerful warrior in this battle. Despite this victory, other members of the Chess Pieces remain on the battlefield and continue their assault on the world of MÄR.

95The Truth About Snow
Diana planted a Magical Stone in Snow's mother, creating a supernatural link between Snow on MÄR Heaven and Koyuki on Earth. Diana engineered this connection through the stone's evil influence to serve her own plan for conquest. Diana intends to use the bond between the two girls to tear open a portal connecting both worlds permanently. Snow learns that her very existence results from Diana's manipulation and the stone's implanted corruption. Koyuki discovers on Earth that her counterpart's fate ties directly to Diana's scheme against both worlds. Diana reveals that the portal's activation depends on exploiting Snow and Koyuki's linked souls as a key. Diana placed the stone in Snow's mother before Snow's birth, ensuring the link would form naturally. This act allowed Diana to control the connection and set her cross-world invasion plan in motion without detection. Diana's scheme threatens the world of MÄR and Earth with simultaneous destruction through the merging of realms. Snow and Koyuki face the horror of being used as living keys for the portal against their will. Diana moves forward with activating the portal, putting both worlds on the brink of collapsing into one. The team must stop Diana before the portal opens fully and her invasion forces pour through.

During the assault, Alviss sees visions of Rolan and Phantom, who urge him to continue fighting. Bell also calls out to Alviss, unaware of the spectral presences. Alviss sacrifices himself by grappling King to prevent escape. He activates his ÄRM a Baoa Qu, intending to destroy both himself and King. King escapes the blast, but the explosion severely wounds Alviss. Before dying, Alviss uses his remaining magical power to activate the ÄRM left behind by Ash. Dorothy, Ginta, and Babbo depart to reclaim the stolen Caldian castle. Alviss thanks Bell for her support and then dies. The episode closes with the team advancing toward the castle while Alviss's sacrifice removes him from the battlefield.
100The Tempest of Woe - Zephyrus Broom
Following Alviss's death,Ginta, Babbo, and Dorothy proceed toward the stolen Caldian Floating Castle where King hides. The group arrives at the castle with the intent to confront their remaining enemies. Dorothy encounters Diana inside the castle and engages her in combat. The two female warriors fight with lethal intent, each wielding powerful magical weapons. Dorothy gains the upper hand and lands a decisive blow that defeats Diana. Diana succumbs to her injuries and dies from the attack. King Danna-Orb then arrives on the scene moments after Diana's death. He immediately turns his aggression toward the fallen Diana and delivers a killing strike to her body. The action eliminates any possibility of Diana's survival and demonstrates King Danna-Orb's ruthless nature toward his own subordinates. Dorothy witnesses this cold-blooded act as the enemy leader shows no loyalty to his defeated ally. The battle within the floating castle shifts as Ginta and his remaining companions must now face King Danna-Orb directly without Diana as an obstacle.
101Ginta vs. Danna
Following Dorothy's death,Ginta confronts the Chess Piece King Danna-Orb in direct combat. Danna carries Caldia's Orb within his body, granting him immense power. Ginta engages Danna to stop the Chess Piece King's reign. During the battle, Ginta discovers that his father's soul has resided inside Babbo all along. This knowledge changes how Ginta views his ARM partner. As the fight reaches its climax, Ginta successfully extracts Caldia's Orb from Danna's body. The removal separates the orb from its human vessel. Freed from Danna, Caldia's Orb discards its host and assumes its true form. The fully manifested Caldia's Orb immediately invades Earth, leaving the world of MÄR behind. Danna, now lacking the orb's power, no longer serves as the primary antagonist. Ginta must shift his focus from defeating Danna to stopping Caldia's Orb's assault on Earth. The episode ends with Earth under siege and Ginta as the only barrier against the unleashed calamity.
102The Excitement Never Stops
With Caldia's Orb now on Earth,Ginta transports Babbo's Gargoyle ÄRM to Tokyo for the final confrontation. The battle between the two forces levels large sections of the city and kills a significant portion of the population. Snow's spirit merges with her Earth counterpart Koyuki, forming a single being. This fusion removes the magical stone embedded in Snow's body. Ginta retrieves the stone and uses it to power a more advanced version of the Gargoyle. This new Gargoyle channels the collective hopes of MÄR-Heaven's citizens. The enhanced weapon strikes and completely destroys the Orb. The destruction of the Orb immediately restores peace to MÄR-Heaven. The King's magic reverses, reviving every person he previously killed. Danna returns to his original, uncorrupted form. With the conflict resolved, Ginta says goodbye and returns to his own world alongside his father. In the final scene on Earth, Ginta walks home with Koyuki, who remains physically fused with Snow's spirit. The fused girl clings to his arm, and both blush, leaving the merged identity of his companion as the series' closing note.
