Kumiko Higa

Kumiko Higa is a Japanese voice actress and stage performer born on October 29, 1978, in Osaka Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce. Higa trained at the Yoyogi Animation Academy before beginning her career in the early 2000s. She is known for her soprano voice, which she has frequently used to portray young boy characters.

Higa has voiced lead roles in several anime series. She is well-known as the voice of Netto Hikari (Lan Hikari) across the entire Rockman.EXE (MegaMan NT Warrior) anime franchise. In other notable roles, she played Romeo in Gokujō!! Mecha Mote Iinchō, Brash in Live On Cardliver Kakeru, and Prince Lumen in both Spider Riders and its sequel, Spider Riders: Yomigaeru Taiyou. Her work also includes the role of Lin Haruka and Shō Ashikawa in Shutsugeki! Machine Robo Rescue, Chidran in Treasure Gaust, and Satoinu (Boartato) in Jagainu-kun. Beyond these, her extensive filmography includes roles in Pokémon as Minun, My-Otome as Irina Woods, and Bakuman as Kayoko Mashiro, among many others.

In 2008, Higa took over the title role in the Japanese dub of the beloved children's series Thomas & Friends, a part she has voiced for many years. In addition to her voice work, she is a member of the theater troupe Haraguro and has performed in stage productions. Higa also takes on narration work and has recorded voice announcements for special Thomas the Tank Engine train rides in Japan.

In recognition of her significant appeal and contribution to entertainment for children and families, Kumiko Higa was honored with the Kids Family Award at the 8th Seiyu Awards in 2014.
