Netto Hikari is the human protagonist of Rockman.EXE Beast, a series set in a world where the internet is navigated by artificial intelligences called NetNavis. He is an eleven-year-old boy who stands 142.8 centimeters tall and has brown eyes and untidy brown hair, which he keeps out of his face with a bandana bearing the Hikari family crest. He typically wears a white long-sleeved shirt with black square patches on the elbows under an orange vest, black shorts, and orange shoes that can be modified into rollerblades. Netto is the operator of the NetNavi Rockman.EXE, a powerful program given to him by his father, the scientist Yuuichirou Hikari. He is lazy when it comes to schoolwork and often oversleeps, but he is highly enthusiastic about NetBattles, the sport-like battles between NetNavis. He has a strong sense of justice and a headstrong, outgoing personality, often rushing into danger without thinking fully. His motivations are driven by a desire to protect his friends and the digital world from threats. In Rockman.EXE Beast, Netto and Rockman discover a mysterious NetNavi named Trill, who is pursued by Zoanoroids, beast-like enemies seeking his special power. Netto’s role is to defend Trill while uncovering the truth behind the legendary cyber beasts Grega and Faltzer, engaging in intense battles that push his abilities to new limits. Key relationships include his partnership with Rockman, who is also his twin brother in spirit if not in form; his close friends Dekao, Meiru, and Yaito; and his main rival Enzan Ijuuin, with whom he eventually learns to cooperate. Netto matures over the course of the series, gaining official status as a Net Savior—a protector of cyberspace—following his experiences in earlier installments. His most notable ability is Cross Fusion, a technique that allows him to physically merge with Rockman in the real world, granting him enhanced combat capabilities and the power to fight alongside his Navi directly. He also demonstrates formidable skill in inline skating, which he uses both for travel and evasive maneuvers in battle.
