Gordon Lindoverberg co-founded the Scientific Boys Club in his youth with Cooper and Shepherd, united by their childhood fascination with Percival Lowell's theories about Martian life. Decades later, in their fifties, the trio collectively decides to achieve their lifelong ambition: building a ship to sail to Mars via the "Ethereal Current" and investigate potential life there.
