Description
Presea Combatir, a lumberjack from Ozette in Tethe'alla, faced hardship when her father fell severely ill, depriving the family of income. Seeking the strength needed for her work, she underwent an experiment involving an Exsphere implant. This procedure, part of the Angelus Project commissioned by Cruxis and overseen by Desian Grand Cardinal Rodyle, granted immense physical power but halted her aging and suppressed her emotions, rendering her existence machine-like. Chronologically 12 but physically younger at the time, the emotional suppression caused severe detachment. She continued her routines unaware of her father's death, leaving his corpse unattended for an extended period.

Her sister, Alicia Combatir, had previously left Ozette to work in Altamira. Alicia later participated in a separate Angelus Project experiment under the Exsphere broker Vharley, which mutated her into a monster and resulted in her death at the hands of her lover, Regal Bryant. Villagers in Ozette ostracized Presea, viewing her as a "cursed child" due to her unnatural strength and emotionless state.

Encountering Lloyd Irving's group in Meltokio led Presea back to Ozette, where she buried her father and swore vengeance against Vharley. Research in Sybak revealed her Exsphere had stalled her aging; though physically 12, she was now chronologically 28. The group obtained a Key Crest crafted by the dwarf Altessa and attached it to her Exsphere. This restored her emotional awareness and resumed her physical aging. Despite this, her emotional expressions remained subdued, her speech blunt and socially distant. She developed a distinctive habit of poking the paw pads of creatures like Corrine and Noishe.

She joined Lloyd's party to pursue Vharley and confront the Desians. A profound loneliness and sense of loss over 16 years of suppressed life haunted her. She rarely spoke of her father or sister and often assumed she had no meaningful connections. Genis Sage developed romantic feelings for her, misjudging her age due to her appearance and remaining unaware of their 16-year gap. She showed no reciprocal interest beyond friendship.

In the sequel, set two years later, she was chronologically 30 and physically aged to 14. She worked with Regal Bryant to rebuild Ozette, mirroring her sister's former role. Most emotions had returned, though social awkwardness persisted. Her fascination with paw pads continued, extending to Tenebrae. Under Sheena Fujibayashi's directive, she aided Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi, using creative tactics to protect Marta from the Vanguard. She later assisted in repelling an invasion of Altamira.

Her relationship with Lloyd Irving deepened; they traveled together for two years after the first game. By the sequel, they were in a confirmed romantic relationship. Lloyd defended her against misconceptions about her youthful appearance. During a conversation with Emil, she related her experiences of physical incongruity with her chronological age, offering him empathy as a fellow outsider.

Alternate depictions exist outside the main series. In *Tales of Crestoria*, Presea and Alicia worked as lumberjacks in Kio Village. Presea fell ill and received medicine that amplified her strength but halted her growth. After an accident left her unable to work, Alicia sought expensive medicine by working for a nobleman, leading to her abduction and eventual killing of her captor. In *Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2*, she assisted in defusing a crisis involving a bomb at the World Tree's roots. Other appearances include *Tales of Hearts* as a support arte, *Tales of VS.* as a playable character, and *Tales of Asteria* where she encountered other protagonists at her cabin.

In combat, she wielded axes like the Fransesca and Gaia Cleaver. Her small stature belied exceptional strength, enabling her to lift massive logs and deliver high-damage physical attacks. Her fighting style focused on close-range melee artes with elemental properties like earth and electricity, offset by low speed. She exhibited high durability and resistance to status ailments like petrification.
