Description
Shihna Fujibayashi, known also as Sheena Fujibayashi, hails from Mizuho, a secluded ninja village in Tethe’alla. As a trained assassin, she is charged with eliminating Colette Brunel, the Chosen of Sylvarant, to halt the mana regeneration threatening Tethe’alla’s stability—a consequence of the worlds’ intertwined fates, where one’s survival demands the other’s collapse.
Her past is marked by participation in Summon Spirit experiments, culminating in a catastrophic failure to forge a pact with Volt, the Lightning Spirit. The disaster claimed a quarter of Mizuho’s populace, left her grandfather comatose, and etched enduring guilt into her conscience. Accompanied by Corrine, an artificial Summon Spirit and loyal confidant, she pursues her mission with grim resolve, believing Colette’s death essential to her world’s survival.
Repeated attempts to assassinate Colette at Ossa Trail and Balacruf Mausoleum falter against both external interference and her own burgeoning empathy. A turning point arises in Luin, where witnessing the Desian-caused devastation drives her to ally with Colette’s group, aiding survivors and questioning her loyalties.
Her journey pivots on confronting trauma and mastering Summon Spirits. At the Temple of Lightning, Corrine’s sacrificial intervention during her rematch with Volt enables her to finally secure the pact, catalyzing her evolution from self-doubt to determination. Subsequent pacts with other spirits bolster the party’s quest to mend the fractured mana links between worlds.
She clashes with Kuchinawa, a vengeful Mizuho traitor tied to the Volt incident, and joins the climactic battle at the Tower of Salvation. Her dynamic with Zelos Wilder, whose flirtations she rebuffs, adds nuance to her relationships. Ultimately, she sheds her role as a conflicted assassin to emerge as a diplomat, appointed to broker peace between Tethe’alla and Sylvarant.
In later chronicles, including *Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World*, she ascends to leadership as Mizuho’s chief, upholding her village’s legacy. Wielding enchanted cards and standing among the last summoners, her unique skills and resolve cement her pivotal role in reshaping her world’s destiny.
