Description
Nami Hitō is Student No. 28 in Class 2-He. She self-identifies as a truant with self-destructive tendencies, yet her classmates consistently perceive her as the most ordinary student – a label she finds deeply undesirable and boring. She actively resists being called "normal," viewing the term as inherently negative, and repeatedly attempts to stand out through attention-seeking behaviors. These include displaying fake injuries, fabricating stories about her personal life, and staging suicide attempts, though these actions are consistently ignored or thwarted by others.

Her full name forms a pun on the Japanese term "hitonami," meaning "run-of-the-mill" or "average," reflecting her struggle against mundanity. During junior high school, she bore the nickname "Namihei," a reference to a character from the manga *Sazae-san*. She attended elementary school with Kafuka Fuura, who may have been the first to label her as normal.

In appearance, she possesses short black hair, initially slightly messier, and lacks distinguishing features, contributing to her perceived ordinariness. Periodically, she gains weight, notably in her cheeks, due to overeating. She frequently uses Apple products like iPhones and MacBooks and shows a particular fondness for ramen.

During the series' planning stages, she was initially intended to be the main heroine before that role was redeveloped.
