As the 26th head of the prestigious Zenin clan, Naobito Zenin wielded considerable influence in jujutsu society. He achieved the rank of special grade 1 sorcerer, renowned as the fastest of his era after Satoru Gojo – a distinction that fueled his resentment towards the dominant Gojo family. Born into the Zenin clan, Naobito endured childhood bullying yet rose to leadership. He fathered Naoya Zenin and was the older brother of Ougi Zenin. His role as uncle to Maki Zenin, Mai Zenin, and Toji Fushiguro defined complex family ties. While the clan largely dismissed Maki for lacking cursed energy, Naobito occasionally showed concern for her safety. He also negotiated directly with Toji concerning Megumi Fushiguro's future. A traditionalist at heart, Naobito nevertheless prioritized the clan's survival above rigid customs when necessary. Naobito's personality blended stern authority with personal indulgence. He valued strength and efficiency, often displaying impatience and a no-nonsense approach during missions. He openly disdained non-sorcerers and harbored grudges against rival clans. Off-duty, he frequently consumed sake, even during operations, and cultivated a fervent passion for anime. This extended to strong opinions on animation frame rates, which he once leveraged tactically to distract an opponent, and included hobbies like criticizing modern television's default frame interpolation settings. His combat prowess centered on the inherited Zenin technique, Projection Sorcery. This ability let him divide one second into 24 discrete frames, executing pre-planned movements within that timeframe. By touching opponents, he imposed the same 24-frames-per-second rule; failure to comply immobilized them for one second, leaving them vulnerable. The technique demanded flawless motion planning, as deviations from physics or trajectory froze the user instead. He also utilized Falling Flower Emotion, a traditional anti-domain technique, to counter guaranteed-hit attacks within enemy domains. During the Shibuya Incident, Naobito led Zenin forces alongside Maki Zenin, later joined by Kento Nanami. Against the special-grade curse Dagon, his speed initially dominated even within Dagon's expanded domain. However, prolonged exposure to Dagon's shikigami swarm cost him his right arm. After Dagon's defeat by Toji Fushiguro, the severely wounded Naobito confronted Jogo. Hampered by his missing arm, he failed to evade Jogo's Disaster Flames technique, sustaining critical burns across his body. Following the incident, Naobito was transported to the Zenin estate where he succumbed to his injuries during a family meeting. His death triggered a power vacuum and exposed simmering tensions within the clan. Despite his often harsh demeanor, his final actions during the Shibuya crisis demonstrated a commitment to protecting others, contrasting sharply with the clan's subsequent conduct.
