Suguru Geto entered Tokyo Jujutsu High as a compassionate student alongside Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri, driven by a conviction to protect non-sorcerers. His worldview fractured during a mission to escort Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel, for her merger with Master Tengen. After her assassination by Toji Fushiguro and the Star Religious Group’s celebration of her death, his disillusionment deepened with the loss of junior sorcerer Yu Haibara and encounters with non-sorcerers abusing cursed beings, including the sisters Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba.
A pivotal conversation with Yuki Tsukumo solidified his belief that eradicating non-sorcerers—dismissed as “monkeys”—was essential to purge curses from the world. This conviction drove him to slaughter over 100 villagers tormenting Mimiko and Nanako, leading to his expulsion from Jujutsu High. Renouncing his role as a sorcerer, he adopted the mantle of a curse user, founding a religious group to amass cursed spirits and followers for his vision of a sorcerer-only world.
His Cursed Spirit Manipulation technique enabled him to absorb and command spirits by consuming them as orbs, accumulating thousands for strategic use. During the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, he unleashed these curses on Kyoto and Shinjuku to isolate Yuta Okkotsu and seize the vengeful spirit Rika Orimoto. Though his tactical brilliance and combat prowess nearly succeeded, the plan ultimately collapsed, culminating in his defeat by Yuta.
Once a close ally, Satoru Gojo became his ideological foil. After sparing Geto post-massacre, their paths diverged until years later, when Kenjaku—an ancient sorcerer—reanimated and controlled Geto’s corpse to advance schemes like the Culling Games and merging humanity with Tengen. This revealed Geto’s prior physical death, his legacy further entangled as his body and techniques were weaponized to manipulate global cursed energy.
Amid his ruthlessness, moments of vulnerability surfaced: he wept upon witnessing young sorcerers shielding one another, reflecting his yearning for a world free from oppression. His final exchange with Gojo underscored unresolved strife, admitting he could never find joy in a reality he deemed irredeemable. Kenjaku’s exploitation of his remains ensured his influence lingered, shaping the jujutsu world long after his demise.
